A little something for #PianoStr.
On efficient technique and the rotation fallacy...
Playing piano with rotation can deceive people to play with very poor form. Do not roll over the contact point when depressing the keys. When focussing on rotation, this is what people end up doing and it's wrong.
Like when doing a push up with fists, you do not make your body rock back and forth, rolling the knuckes on the ground.
The movement is in and out. Also analogous to shifting position when dancing on slippery gravel, you don't want to roll over your ankle when changing direction. If you slide left, you push with your right foot, but the ankle doesn't roll. Your leg bends, then expands to push you the other way. Getting the lines of force is crucial to not fall, but easy for the body because it has balance (vestibular system, inner ear). For the hand you must keep it balanced which is hard as the hand doesn't have it's own balance system.
Rolling over the contact point causes your momentum to continue in the initial direction, and you waste time and accuracy trying to bring it back. If you did that when walking/dancing/skating, you'd fall over.
I have some things to say about free speech; I'm free to say it but I do not have the right to be heard.
Subtle but yuuuge difference, and it applies to Bitcoin. Smol speech...
FREE SPEECH is a property of society (not Bitcoin, not X, not any property or platform) to let truth rise and prevent tyranny.
Its purpose is to enable you to speak freely without fear or coercion or punishment by an authority.
This way, truth isn't stifled, and peope are not gaslit towards tyrannical rule (see Orwell's writings).
Free speech is not a thing where you have a right for your voice to be heard or amplified.
Everyone has the right to speak, but no one has the right to be heard.
This is consistent with the non aggression principle (imagine being told that it is the law that you have to read a book or write particular things in a book said by someone).
Only a coercive authority power can stifle speech in society. The authority power makes up the rules and breaches human rights by making arbitrary laws against citizens "for their own protection". To limit there unethical power, we must uphold and fight for free speech.
If Elon for example, mutes a topic on his platform, he has the right to do that because X is his private property. You don't have the right to tell Elon which voices should be amplified or muted. But if the government does it and he obeys then that is interference of free speech.
Also, if people are being thrown in jail by the government for saying things on X, or anywhere, that is against free speech.
Now Bitcoin...
Bitcoin is designed to be money, and you are free to want that and fight for it.
Other people want it to be something else, you are free to fight that, or it becomes something you don't want.
Bitcoin is not a representation of free speech, it's a representation of your property rights.
Someone is shitting on your lawn, and you are respecting their rights to do it. You don't need to consider free speech and censorship here.
Censorship is actually part of the CONSENSUS RULES. Eg double spending is not allowed.
A free speech advocate who is misinformed might incorrectly say that his speech is being thwarted for not being allowed to double spend. You see how that logic breaks apart?
Bitcoin is not a free speech platform, Is it carefully consensus-censored environment (not authority censored) to enable money transactions without the possibility for anyone to stop it.
When we say Bitcoin is censorship resistant, it's referring to the inability for an authority to stop a payment. Not the ability for anyone to do whatever they want and shit on the Bitcoin lawn.
Stand up for what you want, run Parmanode, and install Bitcoin Knots with it (the default).
Umbrel is completely shit and supports shitcoinery. Also if you switch from Core to Bitcoin Knots with it, you'll have to redownload all the blocks.
Instead flash Parmanode on the micro SD card and import your Umbrel drive so that you don't have to redownload the blockchain when you install Bitcoin Knots.
You can also get a ready-made ParmanodL with Knots which is a wallet and node laptop in one, that is already built and fully synced.
I'm grateful that @Start9 also make it easy to run Knots.
Parmanode & ParmaDrive do not support Bitcoin Core version 29.0.
Knots is its default, lower versions of Core will always be available. Remember it ot doesn't matter which Bitcoin flavour you use if all you care about is running real Bitcoin and staying in consensus. Core is not the only dev team, so fuckem ™ - Core is not what Bitcoin is.
To use Core version 29.0 with ParmaDrive/Parmanode you need to be "lying and tricking the code, woah woah woah" 🎶
First ever code for Parmanode in browser...

Piano technique debunked by Parman, episode #1...
There is no such technique of "arm weight" that any expert pianist actually uses, but it is standard teaching. Like traditional economics, it is wrong, and passed down.
The reason it is propagated, I believe, is because the very best pianists throughout time knew "nothing" about physics and biomechanics, and to them, the arm does actually "feel heavy" and is doing something.
And non-gifted yet interested pianists, some who are gifted at physics and trained in anatomy and biology, eh-hem, well, who are they to question hundreds of years of teaching? Fuck that, I'm question it like everything else.
Weight is a FORCE, created by gravity, and on Earth, results in acceleration of any mass in free fall at 9.8 m per sec per sec.
If arm weight produced tone, the only way to get different volumes is to drop the arm towards the keys from different heights to result in different speeds of key descent...
which...
is...
RIDICULOUS.
What actually is happening, is that the arm is pushing down on the keys, supported by the fingers (so the hand doesn't completely collapse).
The push down happens by
1) lengthening the arm (uncoiling of joints), which is actually a push forwards AND down
2) and by flexing at the shoulder joint, which is a pull down AND backwards.
This is done alternatively, push and pull, but each has a down vector component, allowing constant down force without the joints running out of leverage (ie when pulling, the arm can "reload", or compress, then when its turn comes it has "room" to push -- constant pushing is not possible. Conversely when pushing the arm moves forward at the shoulder joint giving room for the shoulder to pull back when its turn comes).
This push and pull action while playing, if exaggerated, and if the piano stool were on wheels, would result in the chair rolling back and forth as one plays.
That muscular force is used, not gravity, is actually very advantageous, since instead of applying a constant weight and acceleration, you can modify the force using your muscles, at will (varying volume). It's like being able to drop the arm but dial gravity as required.
What's happening at the hand is very different. It is "constantly" experiencing a downward force which causes the hand to splay open. It must be balanced by the precise correct level of counterforce which is flexion of the fingers or closing the hand, such that it results in the plane of the hand remaining stable and mostly horizontal, and not flapping about wildly.
Parman's Piano Lessons for Bitcoiners only soon.
Will work for hard money
Many people will look at a money balance on a screen and think of it as...
"Money in my account"
... but after a painful lesson, it might adjust to...
"Someone else is holding MY money".
While it's a big improvement, most are still failing to see the whole picture. Is that even real money you're saving?

Did you know you can have two drives mirroring each other for redundancy (RAID1) of your precious data?
If you add a file to one drive, it automatically copies to both drives.
If one drive fails the other is there for the rescue.
But if you never check the drive health, one drive can die and you wouldn't know until the second drive dies and you've lost everything!
Then what was the point of having RAID1 in the first place?
New feature I'm adding to all ParmaDrives with RAID external hard drives - The custom software will constantly monitor drive health and alert you that there is an issue, allowing you to create an extra backup for safety (alternative was manually checking whenever you remember).
For those that have ParmaSync enabled to their ParmaTwin, they already have offsite backup, so this becomes less critical, but it's still important to restore your redundancy to optimal levels (For those who don't know, ParmaSync with. ParmaTwin is two ParmaDrives that reciprocally sync encrypted data to each other for offsite backups without exposure to relentless cloud fees).
Speaking of optimal redundancy, the "industry standard" is 3-2-1 backup...
3 copies, 2 different media, 1 has to be offsite.
A RAID1 btw is not considered a copy, because if you accident delete data, it's gone on both. You need to delay syncs to a different drive, and keey history. This is what ParmaSync is for - local and remote.
A custom ParmaDrive solution has got you covered and is a big step in deGoogling yourself.

PRACTICING #BachStr Goldberg Variations #11 for #pianoStr - not refined yet at all. This is the first half of it. I will post an 'after' version in a couple of months when it's had time to mature. Probably will be a bit faster then too. Will be interesting to compare I think.
Someone needs to tell the kids that random words spoken with random rhythm is not music, nor enjoyable.
And requires zero ability.
You shouldn't listen to it, pay for it, memorise it, or mime to it on TikTok.
Parmanode and all ParmaGear has no advertising, it's spread by word of mouth.
The incentives are such that it spreads more by me making people happy.
I like that.
Thank you to all the dirty mouths. GFYs ❤️
Technical analysis is a highly sophisticated scamming art form, where scammy educational/trading companies lure students/"investors" into studying how price can predict price.
By intellectualising the persuit, and layering price with colourful shapes, people are distracted that their tools are all just statistical summaries of PRICE, and ultimately they are predicting FUTURE PRICE based on PAST PRICE, which if you think about it for two seconds, is utterly ridiculous. They are also distracted by this intellectualisation from the fact that they are actually gambling.
Price follows the things that cause something to have any value at all, overlaid by noise. The noise cannot be predicted. Price can be charted and observed, but not predicted. Odds can be set, like a bookie sets odds on a horse race, but studying a bookie's odds book is not giving you an edge, you're just becoming a focussed gambler.
I admit I was scammed by the allure of finding a hack to markets, but I wasn't scammed into believing it was true per se. I was scammed into believing it might be possible, and wasted years in my younger days proving to myself that every case where it looks like it "works" is a statistical illusion. Ultimately, the best traders win because of experience, "feel", and access to speed and capital, NOT the "advantage" of technical analysis.
So here I am trying to save people time.
If I actually spent time showing HOW it's an illusion, then I'm getting scammed into wasting even more time (see Brandolini's Law on debunking nonsense and the disproportionate time it takes, compared to creating nonsense).
Instead, all I'm giving on this topic is the occasional Tweet as a WARNING. Do with it what you want.
Hope everyone is feeling particularly ungovernable today.
Shit, that's crazy! Catch the monetary order collapse last night?
