Confession
I’ve published a podcast every Friday for a while now
And today I’ve not been able to
Got delayed
Hectic week in the Woodhouse House
Tomorrow I’ll make time for it

Not gonna lie
The bearish vibes today have sunk their claws in
- in the shower
- at the coffee machine
- right now
The emotions are so interesting to witness. “I’ve totally fucked up, this Bitcoin thing is going to go so badly, everyone was right” type thoughts cross my mind
Did I allocate correctly? What if I am wrong? What is going to happen?
Fascinating
In spite of many years down the rabbit hole riding this crazy thing that is Bitcoin
So here’s a note to recognise
To observe
I witness this emotion, this feeling, this moment
It’s dark
It’s cold
It’s sad
And you know what? It might get a whole lot worse
Mid 70s - maybe
Mid 60s - maybe
Mid 50s - maybe
Time will tell…
So equally it’s important to come back to: “what’s the worst that can happen?”
And when I ask myself that, I know that it’s just fear, it’s silly, it’s irrational, my worst fears, they’re extremely unlikely
So in lies the market
People
Humans don’t alway make sense. They don’t have to. And markets reflect that
So back to the fundamentals.
Are more people adopting? Yes. Are more people building? Yes. Are central banks going to print more money? Yes. Are property rights going to continue to be eroded? Yes. Is the digitalisation trend intact? Yes. Is the discovery of digital scarcity a once in a generation event? Yes.
So as I said this morning. Get outside and touch grass. Good reminder to do that myself
HODL friends
🙏🏻
Good reminder day:
- price
- value
They’re two different things
Whilst the headlines will be “bear market”, “Schiff is right”, “whales are screwing us”, “covered call yield players are the problem”, “I can’t pay for a coffee with it so it must be useless”
There is an army of ethical, committed, and principled pioneers, rallying to the cry of “rules without rulers”, who buy Bitcoin regardless of the price
Indeed for many of the market players, the lower the price = the better the value, so on waking up today they’re actually happy, buying more, and feeling blessed
Bitcoin obsoleted central banks. They were never going to just float off after 100 years of monetary dominance
It will get harder
But see the value, and the price becomes less relevant
If only I had some dry powder…

I am not a fan of government intervention in life
Nowhere have I seen this more blatant, unnecessary, and frankly totally out of control, than in the building regulations in Australia
There is a rule for everything
- pool fence
- window latch
- distance from fence
It’s mental. This is governance of the sake of governance. Rule maximalist vibes
Painful
Saying that, play the field as you see it, as any entrepreneur can, whilst the map is often not the territory, you can take action
Ps - if there was any mandatory rules in place it should be a daily workout. Always makes me feel better

Today was the first day my eldest could have attended school
Instead I took her to the playground with her siblings and the dog
They ran
They shouted
They fell
Some swinging, climbing, digging, and laughing
Big day on the home-school journey, one I never expected to be on, but increasingly feels right
Cheers to anyone trying things a little different
It’s not easy
If anything I am the biggest roadblock, my own pre-conceptions, and conditioning
I must step into a new me
A better me
A more confident me
I am a home-schooling Dad
That is my job

Since Q2 2022, asking rents in Australia have grown by 36.1%...
Got @uncleJim21 joining me on the podcast in a couple of hours
Any questions for him?

This came up journalling tonight. I quote from my written notepad a section:
"Scarcity is a mindset. You have time. Indeed, 100 - 37 = 63 years. Holy shit you have 63 years of life left. maybe more, of what 40 are very active?Business. Investing. Learning. Fatherhood. Husbanding. All of it you have to look forward to. Boom. This is the kind of vibe that makes me want to not care about Yt, X etc in terms of my podcast. Be niche. Go hardcore. Revel in that. Rebel! People have to come and find you. In fact, those are the people that you want to have listen. The pioneers. It's not about "popularity" it's about "vision", "value", and "results". Are you free? Or are you chasing the algo? Are you sovereign? Or are you paying for someone's lifestyle? Sure, it maybe the slower route. But maybe it's the more ethical, stress-less, honourable..."
Guess I'll be doubling down, again, on Nostr and RSS...! I envision the podcast being something that people using Nostr get huge value from, and with that, as the protocol grows, so will the podcast. It'll be all about viral growth. I will think through how best to do that. Crucially, at the end of all this, or maybe not the end, but as it picks up steam, I will get to keep it, the key pair, npub/nsec, and I can leave it with my will, as part of an inheritance. A source of truth, and ID, in cyberspace, forever. Wow. What an idea

Do you feel inadequate about things you don't have?
