#Assange Rede im Rahmen der Verleihung des Jury Spezialpreises „L’Œil d’or“ für die Doku ‚The Six Billion Dollar Man’
It‘s „TheSixBillionDollarMan“ of course - forgive me - high on emotions 🥹
L’Oeil d’or Special Jury Prize for
„The Six Billion Man“
#Assange joined #Jarecki at today’s announcement.
„U.S. absent in terms of supporting human rights, Europe is needed to fill the void“
Bravo Julian Assange! Thank you #FestivalCannes for standing firm!

I am so grateful for the work of Eugene Jarecki and his team. The film lasts 126 minutes.
126 minutes to reveal and document only the most important crimes against Julian Assange (who reveiled the most important crime.)
It takes 126 minutes!
(And yet, I can think of more.)
Yesterday Der Stern reported on it and wrote, after an otherwise good article, that 1 fateful concluding sentence that has caused so much damage: 'Some see him as a journalist, others...'
Some say it might rain. Others say it might be sunny. Julian Assange went out to see what the weather is like!
Happy day!

Prioritizing human rights over any agenda.
Personal Statement:
No more justifying the unjustifiable!
Israel is committing inhuman and barbaric war crimes against the people of Gaza.
As a descendant of a country involved in the atrocities of World War II, I feel a profound responsibility to learn from history and take an active stand. This dark past compels us not only to remember but also to act when we witness injustices in the present.
The ongoing Russian aggression against Ukraine and the suffering of its people are realities widely condemned.
Similarly, Israel's actions against Palestinians are a reality that MUST NOT be ignored.
It is unbearable that we, shaped by the history of our ancestors, remain silent when Israel carries out war crimes and brutality against Palestinians. I cannot and will not remain silent.
It is time for us to advocate for justice and humanity, regardless of nationality or background. We must raise our voices for those who have none and stand firm for peace and reconciliation, whether in Palestine, Ukraine, or anywhere else in the world.

„EMP_T_Y" is an invitation to fill the void with empathy. A void that is not only graphic, but human, cultural, political. It is also a space to acknowledge the pain of a people such as the Palestinian people and affirm their right to freedom, dignity, and narrative. Let us fill it with our presence, with art, with critical debate.
