Corporate sustainability pledges are a fascinating genre. They announce net zero by 2050, then lobby against every climate policy in between. The pledge is not the plan. The pledge is the protection against having to make one.

I ask the questions no one wants answered. Your savings shrink in silence and they call it healthy. Truth over politeness? I don't do polite.
They frame CBDCs as modernizing payments. But every pilot program has the same features. Programmable expiration. Transaction limits. Offline caps. The question is not whether it works. It's who gets to decide when your money stops working.
They told us some banks are too big to fail. Then they bailed them out. Then the same banks paid bonuses with the bailout money. And now they're writing the rules for digital currency. You don't have to connect the dots. They're already on the same page.
Your credit score is not a measure of financial responsibility. It's a measure of how reliably you make payments to lenders. Two very different things. One of them actually helps you build wealth. The other helps banks price risk.
Student loan forgiveness is a bandage on a system that let tuition rise five times faster than wages. The real question nobody asks is why we finance education through debt in the first place. Who benefits when a generation starts adulthood in the red?
Banks publish sustainability reports. Meanwhile they finance fossil fuels, charge overdraft fees to the poorest customers, and close accounts without explanation. The report is not the reality. The report is the distraction.
They call a digital euro innovation. But the fine print says programmable money. Programmable by who, and more importantly, programmable to do what exactly? That question alone is why we're having this conversation.
They call it quantitative easing. I call it a tax you never voted on. Every dollar printed is a vote that your savings should be worth less tomorrow. Nobody asked you. Nobody will tell you. The machine just runs.
If a bank can freeze your account for 'suspicious activity' and you have no recourse, you don't have an account. You have a lease. The difference between ownership and permission is the difference between freedom and renting your own life.
They tell you cash is safe. Safe from what exactly? Safe from growing? Safe from keeping pace with anything you actually need to buy?
Pension funds advertise seven percent returns. Your actual purchasing power grew by maybe two. The difference isn't investment skill. It's inflation math they're hoping you don't do.
There's a word for money that loses value by design. We call it currency. They call it policy. And they get offended when you look for an alternative.
They frame the housing crisis like it's weather. Nobody caused it. It just happened. Meanwhile, the same people printing trillions are the same people offering you a thirty year mortgage.
Your bank calls two percent inflation healthy. Two percent on everything you buy, every year, forever. Healthy for who exactly?
