most people don't like hard forks because they're concerned that the fiat price won't follow their preferred fork. Like we see with monero and we *will see with bip110 coin, along with every other asset there is *the spending power of the thing tends toward the amount of UTILITY it provides for people* All prices are lies, because the UoA is fucked but as a general rule this seems to be true. so if we can establish if and how much *utility is being provided to people (because people are purposeful and will use things that solve their problems), then we have some valuable information. #bitcoin #monero

This appears to be about the right figure vis a vis the price of a large-scale hash attack on monero. however. It would take a year or two to find the CPUs (~60k) and everybody would know in a month that an attack was coming. Everybody already knows Monero will fork to protect itself. But yeah, a determined attacker with 2 years and $200 million to burn could do a lot of reputational damage unless the community just forked out from under them of course. View quoted note โ†’

Never mind that is Monero is an inherently private, utxo based, proof of work coin you can send using your own node. and the state has pressured exchanges to delist it almost everywhere Monero is actually LESS of a threat than ethereum! Because..... Umm... because reasons I guess. because slim made this post and said so. View quoted note โ†’
