Most people think road marathons are the “entry point” to long distances… but they’re actually harder on your body than most ultras. Roads beat you up. Trails spread the load. And ultras give you permission to slow down, walk, and manage your effort. If you want to go further, stop treating pace like a religion. Shift the terrain, control the intensity, and your body will surprise you.

People massively overcomplicate ultramarathons. You don’t need elite genetics, fancy shoes, or 120km weeks. You need the ability to walk, problem-solve, and stay calm when it gets uncomfortable. If you can walk for a very long time… you can finish an ultra. I teach people how to do this every day.
If you want a rite of passage in your life, run an ultramarathon. Not because it’s easy — but because it forces you to meet the version of yourself you’ve been avoiding. I trained for 3 weeks at 18 and finished my first ultra. Not because I was talented… but because I refused to quit. The point is absolutely anybody can do an ultramarathon.

You don’t even need to be a “runner.” What you do need is: • time on feet • patience • the willingness to walk • and a mindset that doesn’t crumble when discomfort shows up That’s why so many people finish 50–100 km ultras… and so many struggle through marathons. If you can walk all day, you can finish an ultra. The gap isn’t physical — it’s belief.
If you can walk for a day, you can finish an ultra. Most people think ultras belong to “elite athletes.” But the truth? They belong to anyone willing to keep moving. We’ve been conditioned to believe you need: ❌ 120 km weeks ❌ perfect genetics ❌ years of training ❌ some superhuman threshold for suffering You don’t. What you do need is: ✅ the patience to keep putting one foot in front of the other ✅ the humility to walk when you need to ❗ and the courage to attempt something bigger than your current identity Ultras aren’t about speed. They’re about time on feet, mindset, and managing your energy over hours, not minutes. That’s why so many “regular people” who train smart end up going further than lifelong runners who train dumb. If you can walk for 10–12 hours… If you can stay curious when things get uncomfortable… If you can keep your ego out of it… You can 100% finish an ultramarathon.
