Early GM🙏
Giving my first massage to a pregnant woman yesterday has been such an honouring and touching experience🙏
It's a blessing to be in the presence of a soul still deeply connected with the spirit world, yet only about 2 weeks distance to take it's first breath for it's upcoming lifetime.
I feel humilty towards the mysteries of life and the power of creation.
Creation, birth and death are such powerful portals.
Thanks.

Phil Borges (Director & Executive Producer CRAZYWISE) on
*different approaches to altered states of consciousness in western and indigenous cultures and about
*when western medicine started to treat these symptoms mainly as
„abnormalities in brainstructure and chemistry“ in the Mid 80s
-> Nancy Andreasen, M.D., Ph.D: The Broken Brain - The Biological Revolution in Psychiatry
…a THEORY, that has NEVER ever been PROVED - and will never be verified bc it simply isn’t true. Period.
Instead:
-> pair someone who is in the middle of his crisis w/ someone who already made it through this crisis
-> stop looking for the problem and the label
-> start looking for the strength
-> instead of asking "what's wrong with you?" ask: "what happened to you? - and listen...!"

What a great TED Talk by Phil Borges (Director & Exec. Producer of CRAZYWISE) about the different approaches to altered states of consciousness in western and indigenous cultures:
* indigenous cultures:
- cultural context: the „crisis“ is sth the person will come out of stronger in the end
- not stigmatized (in western culture, if you have the stamp of „mental illness“ on your forehead, it’s one of the most stigmatized thing that can happen to a person)
- they have a mentor, sbd who has already gone through this process, who holds their hand and says: listen, I know what this is all about, and this is how you manage it
- they have a community and an outlet for their talents.
* western cultures:
- label / diagnosis
- meds to suppress the „symptoms“
* western psychiatrists who take a whole different approach to this issue:
-> let’s stop stigmatizing these ppl and tell them they’re broken.
-> give them a place of support
-> the psyche itself is self-healing: work with whatever is showing op
-> then you typically come out at a higher level of awareness and consciousness
