To maintain power the state must maintain the illusion of its necessity at all costs. Unfortunately it has a whole army of people suffering from Stockholm syndrome that helps them achieve this. What can we do to help heal these people?

Friendly reminder that just because a government steals money from you and uses it for evil doesn't mean you're evil. If someone stole your car and hit a pedestrian would you feel guilt? Statists want you to feel guilty. They want you to feel culpable. Stop using terms like we when talking about a government. And don't call it my/your/our government. That is an illusion perpetuated by language. Words are like magic so be careful with your spelling.

It's relatively easy to predict and measure the intended outcomes of most actions. Though the unintended consequences are more difficult to measure, they often outweigh the intended ones. If only people would consider this before demanding that someone "do something" about something.
