I am looking for some resources on networking. More specifically setting up a home network. I essentially want to self-host my own data and services/apps.
I am looking at the following:
1. Server OS like cloudron or start9
2. NAS for storing media and files (and apps if that makes sense)
3. Pi-hole to setup my own internal DNS
4. VLANs for my network with all my services and files and a guest VLAN. A third one would be cool to give some limited access (perhaps just access to a service or two)
5. At a later stage I would like to access my network from the internet. I think this is done via a VPN.
I am a technical guy, it is just my level of knowledge on networking is lacking 😅 “Trust CA Root”, “Port Forwarding”, etc. are not familiar concepts to me.
Thanks in advance! #asknostr #networking #selfhosting #sorveinty

Found out that Nostr uses kind 1984 for content reporting 🐰🥚
The more you know! 😂

Question.
When talking to a family member who does not understand what Bitcoin is, how do you go about approaching the topic in a manner that can plant a seed in their head 🌱
Comparing it against gold is one approach I know of. Also raising the point that it is hard money seems like a good point to raise.
Also, what common questions do you get and how do you suggest responding to them? 🤔
My aim here is to give the family member an opportunity to own some sats.
