Travelling from Milan to Amsterdam with Easyjet today.... not by my choice.
What a terrible overal experience.
Not that you can expect anything from a low cost airline but I'm always surprised on how cheap and bad it all is.
I often say to myself that I should avoid these companies as much as possible in the future, but unfortunately in Europe they have invaded the market aggressively.
Another example of how the fiat mentality has change our world for the worst.
I have since a few weeks ditched my iphone 11 in favour of a pixel7a with graphene os. I must admit it's been a bit of a steep learning curve out of the apple ecosystem..... I have decided to proceed in steps on my de-applesation path. I feel, as all my devices are due to be replaced, it is the right moment to move to android-graphene and Linux!
These are the steps I've planned:
1- switch phone and operating system but keep using ,on a "general use" profile all the little convenience apps like Google Maps, Microsoft 365 and WhatsApp. I have switched my family to signal though (not without some resistance!)
2- get a Linux laptop (I was thinking of the 14' starbook) with elementary OS.
3- try to get my digital life back in sync without Google and Icloud , with open source alternatives. I need Microsoft 365 for work though.
I'm playing with Nextcloud but I realize that I need to significantly increase my knowledge and IT skills.
What motivates me is this feeling of digital oppression/surveillance that I'm afraid will only increase over the next few years, I'd rather try to break free now than do it when the shit hits the fan after I spend over 5000usd in new shiny apple equipment!
Comments and obviously suggestions are all welcome!!!
Stay humble and stack sats, friends!
