I got a call last night… My dad told me he’s been battling heart failure in the hospital for a week and has been keeping it private so that we wouldn’t worry. His lifestyle is changed forever. Pills, diet, exercise, everything has to be tracked. He was never one to go overboard and kept discipline, so he never worried about that stuff before. My relationship with my dad is changed forever. He’s no longer the immortal hero of my childhood. Just a person. Now I feel like I have to cherish every single moment with him. Call your dad more often guys, he may not call back next time.
