Not gonna lie, they had us in the first half. When they said they were funding important Nostr infrastructure development, like the first Nostr clients and stuff, the millions started flowing. But now that the first generation client development can barely keep up with the level of today's clients, the money has dried up. And the old heroes look really old. They couldn't keep up or modernize anymore. They just rested on their old laurels (and the money) ... and still profiting from old legends and myths.

It's out! The player heatmap of Turkish national team!

It's finally here. After nine and a half months of hard work, a full restart after the 1st month, and coming close to quitting 3 different times, the 1.0 version of one of the most sovereign Nostr clients is out. It's available on Linux, Mac, the web, and GrapheneOS. It might even run on Android if you're lucky. You can grab it from Zapstore or get the APK file directly, but it'll never be on the Google Play Store or the Apple App Store. No Google services at all, not even a quick look. MIT license, over 160 features, including a bunch you've never seen anywhere else and probably couldn't have imagined. No funding, no investors, no team, no company. Well, just my one-man company. No outside influence, but a ton of user requests built in. 10 months ago I said I should build a client. I wanted to see if I could do it. Now it's done. Ladies and gentlemen, here it is, all grown up and ready for you: NoorNote 1.0!

The #NoorNote onboarding just got a little simpler and a bit more tailored for Muslims and Christians. I took the whole relay management section out of the onboarding wizard. NoorNote now just picks the best relays for new users automatically, including the right inbox relays for NIP-17 DMs. If someone knows what they’re doing and wants to handle it themselves, they can still do that in the relay settings after onboarding. The choice made during onboarding can always be changed. I also added 2 checkboxes in the bio section for religious affiliation. This only affects which thematic relays get added. If someone selects 'Muslim', it adds noornode.nostr1.com and bitcoinmajlis.nostr1.com. If they select 'Christian', it adds theforest.nostr1.com. [npub1m4ny6hjqzepn4rxknuq94c2gpqzr29ufkkw7ttcxyak7v43n6vvsajc2jl, I hope I got this right that the relay is moderated according to your values]. That’s it. Nothing about this gets published anywhere else, it only impacts relay selection. If you don’t care about it, you can just skip it. I don’t know of any other faith-based thematic relays, but if you do, let me know and I’ll add them the same way.

I'm watching a commercial during halftime for the "first privacy smartphone." I'm sitting there like, what?? It turns out it's just some crappy Samsung phone with a different display so nobody can look over your shoulder in the elevator and read your WhatsApp messages.
