Okay, ladies and gentlemen, welcome to the Nostr Rabbit Hole! You can just do things, right? Okay, I've got lots of kinds of notifications in #NoorNote by now, more than in other clients. But not all of them are equally important to me. For example, hashtag notifications. You can subscribe to any hashtag in NoorNote and then get notified whenever a note with it pops up. Great for #asknostr quiz games, but not always. Sometimes they don't interest me. Those have priority 3 for me, the lowest priority, and they're shown as an empty circle for the notifications badge. Then there are important notifications, like when someone replies to your note. You shouldn't miss those. So I drag that into priority 1 in the priority settings. The notification badge then lights up and pulses a little, and I know, "Aha, I should check that out." Everything else you can put into priority 2; that gets a regular notifications badge. image Do you have different priorities? Then set your priorities in the settings however you want using drag & drop! Until we meet again in another episode of the Nostr Rabbit Hole. image
The next idiot who claims that vibe coding isn't real development work, I'm reporting to the Nostr CEO, and I hope his sleeves get wet every single time he washes his hands.
Iโ€™m a simple man. You talk about #NoorNote or #NoorSigner on Nostr => I zapp.
You play boring grandma games like Wordle on Nostr. I play #asknostr on Nostr. We are not the same. Because I can subscribe to the hashtag, get notified when a new note pops up, and play "Let's see if I can answer that." (Mostly not.) But it's fun. image
I don't follow you, not even privately, but I catch almost everything you write and post. Yeah, even better than if I just followed you, because then you'd have to compete for attention with the 380 other people I just follow. But you're in a timeline with only a handful of other people. So your notes stand out, no matter when you wrote them, whether 10 minutes ago or 6 hours ago. I'm the boss of how I distribute my attention, not the feed. I decide who I want to listen to. That's Tribes. That's Nostr. Follower counts ain't shit.
The fiat world is unbearable these days. The amount of conformity it demands just to handle the most basic tasks is totally out of proportion to any benefit. Simple example: My booking got canceled. Just like that. I didn't even get a notification email about it. Makes you wonder why you even bother registering with the booking provider in the first place. Apparently, they don't want to use the user's email for their own good at all. A notification about the status change from booked to canceled would be the bare minimum a system could send out. Especially from a big, well-known provider. So I randomly check the app and see my booking isn't there anymore; instead, it's landed under the canceled bookings tab. I hunt around for reasons, even emailed them, but I doubt they'll reply. Wrong credit card entered? Which one's even the "right" one? The Turkish one? The Islamic one that doesn't give interest on your balance? Or the crypto card that's known for letting you spend Bitcoin directly? Or was it my email address I used to register with the booking provider? Because it didn't look like larryschmidt@gmail.com, but more like a disposable one such as clamshell.frown401@4wrd.cc? Is somebody offended because I don't trust them? Whatever it is this time, the fiat world and its conformity expectations are really getting on my nerves again, and they can all go screw themselves.
Yeah, that's interesting, isn't it? For years, we didn't give an axe about what's going on in Iran. Same as we didn't care about what's happening on the Fiji Islands or how folks in Benin are doing. But all of a sudden, everyone's super interested in Iran? Are you guys that into Fiji or Benin too?
Tribes are now fully integrated into the timeline view in #NoorNote. One timeline for each tribe under its own tab. Never miss notes from the people who matter to you anymore. image
