That's funny. First off, we had this little wave of folks saying, "You all aren't zapping enough. That's not how it works. Nothing's gonna come of it, you cheapskates."
Then two weeks of silence. But it really got under the skin of some people (you know, the cheapskates).
But yesterday and the day before, they pulled themselves together after the shock and now they're coming back organized with this "What's this about? 1 Sat is enough. Everyone zaps how they want... whine whine whine" babble.
Sure, guys. Everyone does what they want, nobody's forcing you. If you want to sit on the sidelines watching the masters play... that's your call. But freedom doesn't mean freedom from consequences. Just know you're outing yourselves as cheapskates with that. Because we got the freedom to judge too, and think what we think about it.
Well, whatever. My brothers are the masters at everything anyway. Charity, zapping... none of you can hold a candle to them. While you guys cling to your money with your materialistic worldview, my bros give like there's no tomorrow. Money shows how your ego is wired.

Muslim, Turkish man living in Germany, Internet veteran, husband and father.
Developer of: https://noornote.app/
a premium Nostr client for Desktop (Linux & MacOS), Web and GrapheneOS/Android.
Multi-user support in #NoorNote is here! And in #NoorSigner, that local command line key signer, of course. Switch accounts super quick however you want.
NoorSigner asks for a password every time you switch accounts, but since I know how much some folks hate the command line, the user doesn't even notice it. Thanks to the beefy API in NoorSigner, you can control it right from NoorNote. NoorNote prompts for the password on each switch and passes it over to NoorSigner. It authenticates, swaps the nsec/npub, and lets NoorNote know. NoorNote reloads and you're good. Full user experience, minimal hassle.
NoorSigner key signer has gotten pretty powerful now, small, fast, encrypted, and totally cut off from any internet connection. But it's got a rich API for all those other desktop clients that want to use it and interact with it straight from their app.
And now the last big feature before release is up: NIP-17 DMs with nostr1.com relays as the inbox relay. @cloud fodder hinted he might make sure those DMs get deleted from the relay after a certain time. That would be straight ๐ฅ.
And even if not, NIP-17 DMs are coming insh'Allah.

WordPress has fallen too. In this time when it's becoming clear who's on which side. Instead of getting closer to the Nostr ecosystem, they've decided to suck up to the fiat Reddit system.
That's a shame, because I've been with it since the first fork of b2/cafelog, written a ton of themes and plugins. And while overparanoid conspiracy theorists were babbling about telemetry and embedding harmful thirdparty systems, I've always defended it and made it clear that WP is still open source, that by default it doesn't include harmful thirdparty systems.
But WooCommerce is on a really bad path right now. And BTCPay Server isn't ready yet to go into lawcompliant mass usability. Too much is missing, too bad UX, so it remains a fringe phenomenon.
"Lawcompliant mass usability" and selfsovereignty? What is this guy talking about? ... some immature minds will ask now. For these naive dreamers, let me remind you again: We're doing a peaceful transformation here. It doesn't help at all if on this path online shops get shut down, warned, or their operators taken into custody. Then that's the end of the transformation. Don't be childish. Be smart.

Be smart.Alright, friends. This is the year of decision. In 2026, we're all going to have to choose, whether we like it or not, which side we're on. You want to be with the helpless fiat slaves who just let everything happen to them? Or with the self sovereign people who are fine taking on some hardships and discomfort for it.
I know we've been talking like this for three years now, but this time there are real external reasons pushing us. Like the political obsession with surveillance and stripping away people's rights. They're not budging an inch from their nasty ways, so we can't let our defenses slip either.
But it's not just about us and how strong we build our shields, it's also about raising our kids. Do we really want to leave them with no alternatives, a totally monitored internet, along with a mindset of helpless conformity? Or do we want to set the stage for their future strength?
And most importantly, how much energy and work are we willing to put into this? How much free time, money (in Bitcoin, of course), and effort are we ready to sacrifice? Talking is easy, but doing takes real energy. Our final year is here; after that, everyone's got to pick their side.
Twitter is dead. Long live the Nostr. View quoted note โ
Inception is real, what the movie talks about is true. You can have a dream inside a dream and then wake up level by level. I've experienced stuff like that a few times in my life, but last night it was crystal clear.
I heard my alarm go off and got up to shut it off, since my alarm clock is always somewhere away from my bed. Then I figured I was awake. I started thinking about what a super long dream that was, it felt like it went on for days, like a whole story spanning multiple days. So yeah, it's true that time moves way slower in a dream within a dream.
Then the alarm rang again and I woke up for real this time. I was like, huh, why is the alarm going off twice? So I got up again to turn it off. Next thing I know, I'm sitting on the edge of the bed feeling completely out of it. No clue what day of the week it is, no idea what went down last night before bed. Totally disoriented. It took me minutes to snap out of it and realize it's Saturday, the kids don't have school today.
But I thought I'd slept through morning prayer. Turns out I didn't, I got my usual four to five hours of sleep. Crazy shit. Oh, and by the way, I don't drink alcohol, don't do any drugs. I never even need coffee in the morning, I'm usually sharp as a tack right away. But man, this morning I was really out of sorts.
Okay, if these WoT mechanisms slap a new user with a "probably a spammer" tag right as they set foot in Nostr, then something is seriously messed up with the WoTs. It's almost like Twitter, where new accounts get throttled right away and marked as untrustworthy. How's anyone supposed to get their foot in the door with that?
I've been skeptical about this whole WoT thing from the very start, not just because of cases like this. To me, it just feels like a desperate stab at trying to formalize "trust."

Jumu'ah Mubฤrak, you cyber pilgrims!
Yeah, I'm all for that too. It just doesn't make sense to let encrypted messages hang around in relays forever. Having them go through relays at all is already unnecessary. I'd much rather have direct P2P communication instead.
I've been thinking about this all the time and holding off on implementing DMs in #NoorNote because of it. To me, direct messages don't belong on any relays at all. And if they do, they should get reliably deleted right after delivery.
Anyone want to step up and build a solid inbox relay? We need that infrastructure.

Know what I think the biggest problem with organized work these days is? It's not fiat, it's not money. It's people having no backbone when you try to work with them. Back in the day, it used to be "a man's word is his bond." But now? Almost everyone lies, swears up and down, makes quick promises just to forget them two hours later. This isn't just isolated incidents anymore. It's become an epidemic.
Picture this: Boss asks his app developer "why did our app get kicked off the Play Store?" Developer says "I'll figure it out right away." A week goes by. Boss asks again. Developer says "I was gonna handle it this week." Another week passes. Nothing. This dumbass doesn't even reach out and say "sorry, I promised I'd take care of this but..." Nah, you gotta chase this jerk down for the third time.
He could've just said "I don't care" or "I don't have time for this" like a real man. He's a freelancer after all. You can't boss him around. He can do whatever he wants. But no, he makes a promise so casually, like it means nothing. Then he ghosts you. Not once, not twice, but three damn times.
And it's like this everywhere, all the time. People freely give you their word, then break it without a second thought. Honestly man, how are you supposed to work with people like that?
