What’s the whole nostr pura vida/costa rica connection anyway?

Morning #nostriches I’ve been here a few weeks now and am noticing something interesting. In another life I was a design consultant and owners rep for large scale commercial architecture projects. Performing arts centers specifically. This moment on nostr reminds me of that moment on a big project when the building was “done” enough (substantial completion) but operations hadn’t yet moved in and no one was really using the building. It’s a great moment for the construction workers, architects etc to celebrate its creation and play with what it can do, running around the halls giggling with feverish excitement and trying to finish things, but it’s not yet ON. It feels like the fiat day of band camp. That is always followed by a flood of people that make use of about 40% of what the building can do of which only 1/2 overlaps with the original design. Soon it’s unrecognizable and busy doing cool things differently than anyone has planned. Congratulations nostriches, you’ve created a wonderful thing here. If you’re lucky and it’s accepted in a way that really fills a need for people, it will soon be busy and unrecognizable. It’s a weird kind of success, I suppose like parenting maybe. But maybe the kind of success that will change the course of history in its own way. I remember downloading Linux over a 14.4 modem to my 486 in the early 90’s and thinking this might change things, even though I had no idea what to do with it. This feels a bit like that. Something big is coming…
