Posting when I use my maple syrup. This morning making granola. I use home tallow and butter as the oil 50/50. Usually use my foraged black walnuts but boys think they are too strong so pecans in this batch. Recipe below.
Basic Granola
3 c rolled oats
2 T brown sugar
1/2 t cinnamon
1/2 t kosher salt
1/3 c honey or maple syrup
1/4 c butter or tallow
1 t vanilla
1/2 c chopped nuts
1/2 c dried cranberries/raisins (optional)
Spread on sheet.
Cook 20 min at 300 add nuts for 15-20 min more.
