Here is another cheap DVD player that I recommend. The Philips DV 5992 (the /37 is just a country code). The Toshiba below contains and an SD card reader slot, while this Philips contains a USB 2.0 input. Both are useful additions. Picked up a Pioneer KEH 7676TR AM/FM Cassette Player circa 1989

Picked up a Toshiba 5980 DVD player. It uses a Zoran chipset which Ive never checked out before. So I thought Id check it out.

There were various schemes to reduce tape hiss, the most famous being Dolby B (Dolby Labs had several marketed versions)...the point being increasing the signal to noise ratio. Here is Kenwoods version, the Kenwood 8181 De Noiser. Shown alongside the 6060 Ocilliscope.
