Another round of purple sweet potato slips and passion fruit going into propagation. I’m in need of lots of ground cover to combat the Bermudas grass and the sweet potato is perfect for the job. The passion fruit will be given away to friends and family or sold. #grownostr #garden #permies #proofofwork image

Happy Father’s Day to all you #Dadstrs out there. Often unnoticed, the fathers maintain the foundation of the family. Cracks, chips, breaks and crumbles are always repaired by the fathers. Sometimes shaky, the fathers are there to mend the weakness and keep the family strong and resilient. #grownostr #father #dad image

Nothing like #cooking over an open fire. It takes you back to the privitive days when our ancestors would hunt and cook a bountiful meal for the village after a successful hunt. Beef Steak, Venison Back-strap, eggs, bacon, sausage, heck my boy even hooked us up with some Chicken Alfredo. We ate like kings. Probably the only group of guys that come home from camping actually heavier than when we left 😂 #foodstr #campstr #primitive #grownostr

Just wow! @MattyCoins some other friends and myself had such a great weekend out at Fidlers Bend Outdoor Adventure Park. We went #camping #hiking #4wheeling #fishing #mudding and saw lots of wildlife. It was so nice relaxing and not having a worry on the mind. Definitely a much needed break to get outdoors and do some things we love. #grownostr #nature #outdoors

We had a whole mess of #storms last night. #flooding #tornadoes #wind There were many communities around us who were devastated by the tornadoes. We skirted by with some mild flooding. The #swales did their thing and directed water appropriately. Thoughts, prayers, and good vibes go out to those who lost the Mother Nature battle last night. 🫶

Harvested some fresh #herbs yesterday and decided to put the dehydrator to use. Collected Yarrow, Wild Lettuce, Thyme, and Chocolate Mint. The explosion of flavor after dehydration is magical. #homepharmacy #grownostr #garden #permies

#Truck has been misfiring. Got some new spark plugs and the first one I pulled out looks like this. The crazy part is, I changed the plugs only 90,000 miles ago. #maintenance #grownostr image

Here’s the update for the very interesting cutting I took from a ….. Mulberry Tree!! Notice the different leaf patterns. These were cut from the same tree at the same time. Seems that the lower thicker branches produce the ovular leaf pattern. The thinner tip cuttings produce a very depictive 3 lobe serrated leaf. #observation allows space for new hypotheses. #permaculture practice astounds me more and more every day. View quoted note →

This #fiat world is so depressing sometimes. I may have to withdraw sooner than I have planned just to maintain sanity and happiness. I’ve noticed the corporate ladder has sucked more and more from me each rung I climb. I made the decision 2 years ago to start the decent back to the bottom where the foundation is stable. The tough part is the lifestyle I’ve built for my family revolves around the the income on those higher steps of the ladder. Since making the decision of decline, I’ve paid off auto loan debt, cc debt, and have frugally cut spending on unnecessary materialistic things. I’ve started #growing our food and have started a young #foodforest. I’ve built up a business to which I can help others create food independence. It’s still not to the point where we can solely rely on it for our main stream of income but it’s growing. I’m now at that scary part of descending down the ladder I worked so hard to climb. The rung I used to think I needed to live and provide a prosperous life for my family. I take time to reflect knowing that the experience gained from the climb was not lost. If you’ve ever gone through this experience, please reach out and share your #story. You are not alone and it can be scary at times. Let’s help each other with #encouragement and possibly offer any advice for people starting this journey. #grownostr #growfreedom

If you’ve ever taken an #Enneagram #personality test, it is an interesting take on understanding yourself and how you perceive or make decisions in life. It has determined me at a Type 1 “The Reformer/Perfectionalist” -Attuned to Practicality and frugality -Serious and straightforward during conversation -High internal standards -Natural Talent for teaching and instructing I’ve dabbled in the zodiac personally types, but always though those were more of fate than choice. Enneagram seems to be more related to your experiences yet oddly enough, me as a Gemini correlates most similarly with an Enneagram Type 1. I think it’s good to step back and become more self aware as I grow older. This helps truly understand why you do the things you do and think the things you think. #grownostr
