@Damus seems like if an client is so fast it can send two requests before even receiving an answer, wss://relay.damus.io might disconnect at that point. That doesn’t happen on other relays I’ve tried, including other strfrys…
To fix things up, I have temporarily introduced some delays in between requests, and it works beautifully despite clearly being a patch.

I see a future where most relays have nice brandings visible on clients
I am pretty sure it would help onboarding less technically inclined folks
looking for a bunch of stable free relay with a nice logo for a demo...
Important question for relay operators…
The context is a purple pilling event where attendants use wifi. Let’s say 50 of them install nostr clients and suddently start to subscribe all at the same time to various events. This sudden flow of subscriptions would obviously come from the same public IP.
In relay’s context, does this look like a spammy behavior? Could the IP end up being black listed, thus rendering nostr unusable for those newcomers?
Just found out relays can now include an icon in their NIP-11 Relay Information Document...
Seems like none of those I use have on yet, though… would make for some dope UI.
Is Doug Hoyte, the author of strfry, even on nostr?
Having a hard time finding him…
Wireshark and nostr app development are a match made in heaven
Justin Trudeau’s Government is trying to tax Meta and Google for relaying news links in Canada, so they can redistribute some of it to the authors. Since, Meta has simply filtered those posts, peacefully solving the problem.
Now, the Canadian Government is both asking them to put that info back and send the money.
On nostr, there is no intermediary. So here is a free link on a french newspaper article about this exact subject:

anybody here tried to use a private nostr relay for system events?
for instance, in the morning, I’d love to have a nice summary of all daily backup operations that happened overnight on my servers, straight in my favorite nostr client…
