Can we get "My150"? - social platform protocol where your main community aggregates your core150 people, and the system self-organizes who those people are based on who you invite to your network, trust factors, v4v exchanges, etc etc. You can have sub-communities of 150 circles (personal, professional, interests, etc) for the micro view, and a global tab to see what's going on in the macro. The main dashboard view is a spiral, with you at the center, and all the circles moving outward shift in and out based on the new data coming in on how we interact with each other. Opportunities, gigs, ideas, requests, support, knowledge-sharing, badges for making good connections or completing gigs, and shout-outs that can be reposted across communities. Trusted referrals because you actually know everyone in your circles, but ability to support and engage a global community as well. Planning to seed our food distribution company, the Stalk Market, with #Bitcoin. This is the new-world stock market, where the stocks are stalks and the coin is corn. We put together the one-pager to help the local producers get on board with "farming-as-service" (FaaS) and donate their veg/meat and just take a service fee for stewarding the land and soil. Change the whole mindset on why and how we manage animals and plant seeds. We came up with a realization today: taxing food is a tax on living things. Farming, distribution, and retail is human labor, all the way through, and a "product" is simply a word to disassociate us from the "liveness" of what was once a seed, plant, or animal. So we don't sell products anymore. You get your veggies, meat or eggs for free. Over the last few years, most of the work I've done has been helping small businesses get up and running. And in that experience its become clear that a business is an ecosystem. It is a living breathing organism. So we mapped our organizational structure to mimic nature. A model of dynamic hierarchy. Someone who is a Lead (or a Tree, as we call them) takes responsibility for a task/project/domain, and the Core Team (Seedlings, Sprouts, and Saplings) support that role - and in reciprocity, the Tree provides guidance, accountability, and sets the example for how to Tree. Farming is hard af. And trying ro run a profitable business while not being extractive from the land (and yourself) is even harder. We've been learning over the last three years that diversifying our activities allows the farm to stay financially stable - farming for production, animals, events, rental spaces for tenants and businesses, education, and a marketplace. Yellow Barn has kind of become a small business incubator. If all the businesses can leverage a shared space, a wide pool of people and skills, mentorship, AND we can all just pay each other, then you're really creating some efficiency and keeping money in a closed-loop system. My favorite permaculture principle is "stacking functions" (i.e having the compost pickup route a lso be a food delivery route AND having the food waste be pig food, etc).
