The US government via USAID/Internews put 25 media outlets in New Zealand into a dependent position including Stuff, NZME, Business Desk, Newshub and 1News. New Zealand is the only Five Eyes country that doesn't permit US nuclear ships in its ports. I can attest to the fact that NZ News was captured by interests that lie outside of NZ (probably US) long before 2023 (when USAID allegedly did this). And the last Labour government put incentives in place to keep them captured.
Some mornings I check myself over to see if all the moles and scars are the way I remember. And if not, then I know I'm the clone.
All of the libraries in /usr/lib should never break userspace. That way I can run a 10 year old binary and it will just work. Because the old ABIs will all still be there in the newest libraries. Binaries should be compiled for fairly old library APIs so that they work on pretty old installations right up to current ones. Linux does this in the kernel. If only the libraries did it, linux would be installed on most desktop computers.
I haven't commented on Gaza much in a while. I'll let Shahid Bolson comment on my behalf. I think I'm in 100% agreement/alignment with what he says in this video. I didn't know about this guy until today, but I'm very impressed that his view is so perfectly aligned with mine, and so is his way of thinking. #politics
There are two open issues where blossom is not working with gossip/chorus (or maybe just chorus). I'm posting this just to see if it still works for me. image
I keep hearing about people's lightning nodes having to force close things and it sounds like they are losing a lot of sats somehow. Is that right? Is lightning somehow a fucked protocol? Please forgive and correct my ignorance on this topic. I'm interested not in the gory details, nor summary opinions, but in correct succinct explanations.
