We need a nostr client that is just about managing your relays (and maybe your keys, bunker, delegation, profile). The "nostr account manager" or NAM. No content. But very good at helping you understand all the relays out there, how they are different and what they offer, with lots of hand-holding so grandma could use it. Also assisting in moving content from relay to relay when you migrate.
My town is packed full of people. Roads are all backed up. Parking lots overflowing. Grocery stores are approaching mosh pit density. This happens every year, I'm not suprised. I just want to know one thing: if we have this many more people, there must be places with less people where they came from. Where are those places? That's where I want to spend my next Christmas.
#politics I've seen all good people turn their heads each day, so satisified I'm on my way
I have a friend who has a bitcoin on his desk -- golden, with the B and all those fine wire-like lines around it. I was like "Hey! don't just leave that laying around on your desk!"
Testing undo send, this time w/o undoing it. This post should go through.
I always wanted to live on a lifestyle/farm lot, but I always thought "But I'll have slow Internet." Since I moved to my little sheep farm in 2012 anyways, not letting this issue stop me, I occasionally thought "I wonder how much it would cost to drag fibre here" as I waited for something big to download over ADSL 2+ (I'm too far from the switch to run VDSL). Then 4G happened. Then Starlink. I get 350 Mbps now. No more compromises.
GOSSIP updates (master branch): * Feeds don't rewrite/scroll while you are reading. Instead they stay steady and you get a notification at the top to load the updates. * Switches that modify a feed (include replies, or include/exclude inbox hellthreads) now persist PER-FEED, so you can have replies on some person lists, not others. * "Are you sure?" like double-button-click is now required to send (or cancel) a draft. Maybe it is annoying, or maybe it helps you. Original requester wanted it for cancel (don't erase my carefully crafted draft so easily!) * Fix for copying a DM content via the menu I'll wait a few days for user feedback and for any bugs to arise to get fixed, and then I'll release 0.13

So about these drones sighted over the USA.... it's a red cell op, right?
If the world only had 3 people and we were stuck in the back of a lion's den, and the lion was sleeping blocking the way out..... and one of the people wanted to scream... I would be in favor of censorship.
I don't think this is correct, but it is fun: Hypothesis: Great physicists (Steven Hawking, Edward Witten and others) regret the invention of nuclear weapons and so they have seeded the field with misinformation so that physics can't advance any further until there is an advance in human sanity first.
GOSSIP updates: Gossip (master branch) now has buttons on the Person page to see who someone follows, and to load all the people that follow them. Two caveats to be aware of: 1) Loading who follows someone is slow and expensive and inaccurate... eventually the number settles down. Most people are probably only interested in doing this for themselves. You can adjust a setting to choose how many relays to ask (it will pick the relays with an algorithm). It will "clutter" your local database with lots of contact lists with no great way to clear it afterwards. 2) The resultant list has some kind of scrolling issue which I believe is an egui bad-assumption bug (they didn't predict our smooth scrolling!). See egui/crates/egui/containers/scroll_area.rs function show_rows() if you want to be the hero that rescues us. Gossip (unstable branch) has an 'unread' indicator for the inbox, and has almost instant inbox recalculations (was getting close to 1 second for my large old database) due to a new database indexing scheme.
I have to admit, I don't know what this emoji means: 👀 Does it mean "I'm looking at you" like "I'm giving you the slant eye" or "I'm watching you buddy"... ... or does it mean "hey everybody, look at this!" ... or does it mean "I saw this but don't want to emote anything other than this simple fact" ... or something else? I'm so old.
