Another big Nostr appeal for me is that you own your list of follows ... and customers if you use it for business. You have that easy-going social media interface with simple sharing and interaction. Yet you keep your network in a decentralized way or even export it locally. With Nostr in full swing, that big old thing of bringing clients 'off platform' and creating email lists with freebies would be history. Plus, there's zapping!! Now if only we had some business-friendly clients. That Twitter-X-style with the disappearing feed messages isn't working so well: - Firstly, because there's no permanent gallery of your content that your follows can refer to. My workaround for that currently is my Npub.pro website with curated Nostr posts. But that's an extra way to go. Say what you will about Instagram, its addictive psycho algos and data collection ... it's very much refined software that works very well for businesses. Posts & reels create a gallery profile. And disappearing stories feed your follows with everyday & shitpost stuff. What ever happened to Olas? - Secondly, because DMs are not reliable yet. None of the clients I've used for longer periods of time (Primal, Amethyst, Yakihonne) worked consistently. Not even dedicated messengers such as Keychat. There are some hiccups with @npub1pr4d...mkzp lately. I remove posts from my website, unpin them from the homepage ... but they keep showing up even months after I've done the changes. I add new posts and every time I visit the site they only show up after I browse around and refresh the homepage several times. Some posts appear double. It's quite annoying, the website behaves relatively sluggish anyway, but also like that visitors won't reliably see the latest events and curated posts. Does anybody experience similar issues ... and knows why this happens and how to potentially fix it? I suspect it's got to do with the communication with the relays? 🙏🏼 #asknostr #bugstr
