This is such a cool & touching music video!
Thom Yorke has been one of my artist heroes throughout my adult life. We grow older together and here he is in his late 50s with Johnny Greenwood, playing in front of kids in school.
What I see here is the individuality of the next generation. Some find it boring, others are excited, some are distracted, others are absorbing beauty. They aren't shy to express themselves freely as they are. It's always been like that.
And as the artists, as Thom and Johnny, what do you do with your audience? You just do your thing, you do what you enjoy, and you observe what's happening with your creation and smile with gratitude about the fact that your are alive and can do these things here on Earth. I love Thom's warm, wise face at the end of the clip π§‘

The other day we were invited to a special type of dinner in a stunning spot. We went to harvest each their own potatoes in the fields, fried them ourselves in home-made olive oil, and had them with home-grown vegetables from the garden.
The purest type of ingredients, many directly from soil to plate. It felt so rich in taste and experience. So simple at the same time. People from 100 years back would be like "Yeah sure, how else to eat?" But for our generations, who are largely disconnected from nature, it's a sweet re-discovery of the wealth of life ππΌ

The teachings of Jiddu Krishnamurti had and still have a deep impact on my life. He caters to the logic of a Western mind to go into profound spiritual questions such as fear and freedom. One of his most renowned books is "The First and Last Freedom" and it's probably a big reason why I consider Nostr and Bitcoin so essential.
I remember well when I returned from a Vipassana pilgrimage to India and Nepal. During that trip I also visited the Krishnamurti center in Varanasi where I got inspired to buy a few of his books. And so, for many days I sat in a small cafΓ© back in Moscow reading the books with tears of joy in my eyes. Because the way he's able to go to the root causes of the human dilemma of freedom & violence and portray a way out was just too beautiful!
I inhaled his talks from the 1960s, 70s and 80s like I later did early podcasts about Bitcoin, day and night, completely captivated. A few years on I even got to translate his videos into German for the Krishnamurti Foundation in the UK. This way, I got an even deeper insight into his teachings, as I went over each of his words.
This is a 6-part video series that I translated, from 1976 in Brockwood Park, UK. The gist of the talk is that in order for humanity to transform completely, a deep understanding of freedom is an absolute prerequisite!
When you feel the time is right, meditate or do the Wim Hof breathing exercise before watching the series alone, in silence on the floor with your mind as open and curious as a child.
I plan to share some aspects of Krishnamurti's teachings that touched me the most in the near future, also in relation with Vipassana meditation ππ»

Our olive trees are blooming very nicely this spring ... it makes us hope for an abundant harvest in the autumn ππΌ
Last year's blossoming was seriously disrupted by a dust storm from the Sahara and an early drought. The picture of the cemetery is shot without any filters. It was quite the eerie day.
A few more soft rains before the summer and some winds blowing away the gluey olive psyllid and we are good to go for more amazing natural olive oil π«

I recently got to know 'Mapacho', a tobacco from the Nicotiana rustica plant native in South America. It opened up my perception of what tobacco can be ... and that yet again, we Westerners living predominantly in the mind, in the material, misunderstand and misuse a whole lot of things.
Now I came across this really good, eye-opening, in-depth article about the traditional use of tobacco in the Americas. We are talking for thousands of years. You may say it's another of those rabbit holes you can dive into that flips your Western world view on its head. Enjoy!

It's so good to be back in the olive grove after more than two weeks of traveling in 'civilization'. No artificial lighting in view, no traffic sounds, no backyard garden ... but pure, wild nature. It makes such a big difference for creative perspective and the health of body, mind, and soul ππΌπ«
