I’m tired. This censorship issue should be properly addressed. I know there are smart developers in this space, so I hope they can figure out a real solution. I’m glad Yaki doesn’t seem to have this kind of filtering and you can freely post there. But at the same time, if someone is censored on Primal and a user only uses Primal as their client, then that content becomes invisible to them. A “censorship-resistant protocol” should actually mean what it says. Right now, it often feels like censorship is just happening indirectly through different clients instead of at the protocol level. Many clients are effectively doing that ... applying soft filtering or “censorship with gloves on.” All this talk about WoT and filtering can sometimes feel like it just obscures what’s actually happening. Nostr itself is censorship-resistant, but most users experience it through clients, and if those clients filter heavily, then in practice you are not really experiencing raw Nostr.
