There's always a 'conversion story' just like in many Christian circles. But make no mistake: Freire modeled his process after Christian conversion _intentionally_ and co-opted it for his Neo-Marxist project. Just because there's a counterfeit doesn't invalidate the original: in fact it's 'borrowed capital'. What with Rothbard's (a personal hero!) very brief foray into the SDS/New Left (sometime in the 60s?), I wouldn't be surprised if the ol' rascal picked up a few tricks... Don't get me wrong! I'm a die-hard 'Austro'-Libertarian, because I believe the NAP is the only viable political-economic system downstream from Natural/Moral Law--namely, the "second table" which includes "thou shalt not murder," "thou shalt not steal," etc. (which presupposes individuality and private property). And in Christian theology we summarize this "second table" with the words of Christ: "Love your neighbor" - because, as the Apostle Paul said, "love is the fulfilling of the whole law."
