In the West, the state does not keep citizens at starvation level; instead, it secures consent by ensuring sufficient wealth, distributed through the social state, unemployment benefits, and retirement schemes. The core principle, however, remains: the state purchases public consent. The poorer the state, the more basic the bribe; the richer the state, the more luxurious the bribe. Ultimately, the core message of the article is solid: governance maintained through dependence.🎯
