I keep seeing that the general sentiment on X is that BTC is bad because "you need electricity and internet". (driven by wartime sentiment currently) What few people realize is how tied to electricity and internet our fiat is. A few weeks back, we lost power for a few days. Our cell phone towers were out as well. Our gas stations were hard cash only. For a few days, most people in my area couldn't access their money unless they drove an hour or so away to... a bank or ATM that had electricity and internet. Funny, that. If you can, you should ALWAYS have emergency fiat funds available. The argument that "BuT iT NeEdS InTeRnEt and ElEcTrIcItY" is likely driven by people that have yet to experience what happens when you truly lose access to your money. I have--several times in my life. It's terrible and honestly really scary. You feel vulnerable, insecure, and even worse if you have multiple mouths to feed. Rarely do you control your money. Hold cash reserves and if you can, hold BTC. Things like ecash are also becoming an amazing solution to this problem with BTC. some of the things I've seen following @calle are amazing!
