I spent my first bit of Bitcoin today. I was stacking a little bit specifically so I could start spending and getting into the mindset of really living on a Bitcoin standard. I bought a jersey for my home MLS team after they beat LA in the Leagues Cup. Got to be at the game with my wife and in-laws. On one hand I was debating about wanting to spend the Bitcoin for the future gains, on the other it was a great memory. Feels good. I feel like I get value from #Instagram. I enjoy seeing what my friends and family are up to and see what they think is valuable. I enjoy posting a few times a year as like a "virtual holiday card". I enjoy how it's not ramblings that you get on #FB and #X. BUT, the fact that #Meta decided to add in #Reels to compete with #TicTok has ruined the app. It has become such a temptation to suck my attention for hours that the things I actually do enjoy the app for are such a small percentage of usage. I've deleted all other corporate social media accounts except Insta and I am very tempted to do the same for Insta but those reasons listed above keep me there and it sucks. The fact that companies will manipulate the mind in that way while hiding behind the genuinely valuable aspects of the platform really makes me think that the executives running them are evil.

Everything coming out now about the United States government being so militant towards its own people and it's own economic drivers makes me feel like we aren't that far off from a catastrophic uprising. Trying to buy a house right now and it makes me realize how fucked the housing market is. Bidding wars on a very limited inventory, with rates north of 6.5%, all while wages haven't caught up with the inflation the housing market has seen. My in-laws are seeing many good, single family homes in their neighborhood get bought up by hedge funds to rent. How is this affordable for anyone? How is this sustainable? If there's a catalyst for a revolution, this housing crisis would not surprise me in the least. I don't even live in a traditionally expensive market either.

I never changed the time on my cats automatic feeder from "fall back". She's been living on permanent #DaylightSavings this whole time. Her life was not inconvenienced in anyway on Sunday. If she can do it, so can we.

I hope someday to own 1 Bitcoin, but I'm darn proud of owning more than .5. There isn't enough Bitcoin in the world for everyone to have that much and I have to remind myself constantly about what is "enough" for me and my family. I'm not trying to play the Wall St. games of who has the biggest wallet.
