On a Bitcoin standard, your boss has to negotiate a pay cut with you. A raise may be just keeping the same salary. Either way, you have the upper hand, since doing nothing results in your salary becoming more valuable over time.

Samson Mow spoke at Nostrica and mentioned January 3's work with their Aqua wallet which features Bitcoin along with Liquid Bitcoin and Liquid USDT. He refers to Liquid as 'basically ecash.' Interesting. Now of course there are some differences... Liquid offers Confidential Transactions which hides the amount as well as the asset type. However, the sender and receiver are visible on a bitcoin-style blockchain, unlike ecash. I do like however how the member's of Liquid's multisig federation is geographically distributed to reduce nation state pressure. I also like how they are established businesses with skin in the game. Finally, while ecash offers near-perfect privacy, it has no audibility. This allows for mints to inflate at will, unlike Liquid. So, they both have their differences. Truthfully, if we are talking about large amounts of money, the fact that you can be sure there is no fractional reserve-ing is pretty important. I do, however see the privacy gain benefits ecash offers for spending. As far as products in the Bitcoin-space go, Chaumian E-Cash promises better privacy than anything else.

I saw this picture, and I thought it was a visualizer for zaps notifications. It's not. But that would be pretty cool, right? Especially if you made it with real Lightning, you know the Lightning in a globe thing? image

Thanks to everyone involved with streaming Nostrica. BTW, because Nostrica is a play on Costa Rica, it should probably only be Nostrica if it's held in Costa Rica. But that's just my opinion, and I wasn't there, so I can't be accused of being a Nostrica gatekeeper or anything like that.

Once I asked on Stacker News what people thought about the concept of making some sort of line of NFT showing that you supported an open source bitcoin/lightning project. And people could show them off in their wallet, a NFT for 'splicing,' one for 'teleports' and one for 'mult-path payments.' They compared it to selling drugs for charity. While I think that's a bit of a stretch, I agree, it didn't feel right. I am watching the Nostrica livestream and Will (Casarin, the Damus dev) suggested selling Nostr badges to support Damus development. Nostr Badges might be the missing piece. It shows the owner is the one that did the donating, this motivates to give. The badge cannot be resold for profit, unlike NFTs, soiling the honest ideals of the mission. What do you think about Nostr badges for supporting open source projects?

I was thinking this should be a thing for Twitter accounts, but eventually for Nostr accounts too. You put in a username (npub) and the app/bot gives you a percentage chance that the account is human. A Nostr Account Turing Test. Of course that bot will always need to be upgraded to outsmart the bots trying to outsmart the test.

I knew that Michael Saylor owned hopeDotcom and made it a Bitcoin site, but today I learned that he owns Michael.com as a personal website. i would have guessed Michael Jordan or maybe Michael Jackson's estates owned it.
