People are so worried about people outsourcing their brains to LLMs… But people have always and forever been outsourcing their brains to “authorities” or something that will reduce their cognitive load… …instead of doing the harder work to learn, understand, build…

Pushback paper on that Apple reasoning paper: “When we control for these experimental artifacts, by requesting generating functions instead of exhaustive move lists, preliminary experiments across multiple models indicate high accuracy on Tower of Hanoi instances previously reported as complete failures. These findings highlight the importance of careful experimental design when evaluating AI reasoning capabilities.”
