First piece from the #painting exercise 🎨 Didn’t have time to finish it, so I’ll continue tomorrow. After it dried, I noticed I made the right side behind the trees too dark, so I’ll need to lighten it up a bit

So, the next assignment I'm going to do is three landscapes or still lifes (haven't decided yet) with: 1. a clearly defined compositional center 2. without a specific compositional center 3. with emptiness instead of a compositional center I'm planning to do this over the weekend, hopefully I'll have enough free time :) Join in! #painting #art #study

Yesterday’s experiments ✒️ I tried not to pressure myself and not to focus on making things look pretty. Just quick environment sketches straight with a liner, no underdrawing or pencil. From the guy in the first photo you can probably tell that’s where I started, because he turned out the wonkiest 😁 #sketching #sketchbook

Hey guys! I’m here to share the results of my three-lighting exercise. I can’t say I’m completely happy with how it turned out, but I’m definitely glad I’m keeping up the practice. One day I’ll feel confident in #painting #landscapes and they’ll flow effortlessly — but, as with anything, it all comes down to practice and discipline.

Didn’t have time to continue the three landscapes today, but at least I made it to my weekly Wednesday plein air session it went well, even though I didn’t even finish the #sketch 😅

Figured out the composition for the exercise with three different lighting setups! Hopefully I’ll get some time tomorrow to jump into colors, planning to go with watercolor for this one 🎨

Alongside my regular drawings, I’ve decided to start sharing some of the exercises I’m doing to improve my color and composition skills 🎨 And I’d like to start with an exercise where you paint three types of lighting: 🔵 Morning - cool tones, low contrast, soft light and shadows 🟢 Daytime - neutral or warm colors, high contrast, bright light and sharp shadows 🟠 Evening - warm golden tones, medium contrast, warm light and long shadows
