GM. We admire excellent men and women who positively impact many lives. But if more men and women achieved this, each one would have less to do. The supply of excellence would go up while the supply of people in need would go down. Is our conception of greatness born out of the poverty of greatness our world endures? Probably. But it isn't so much the number of lives you affect that makes you great; it's really the excellence you show to the people nearest you. In a perfect world, greatness would be the everyday excellence of every man and woman uplifting those nearest to them. If we all did this, our greatest ambitions of uplifting the world would be achieved in humble daily harmony with our neighbors. Something to think about.
