Characters! After improving the board, we moved on to optimizing the transaction cards. v1 was quite boring with just "colors and numbers". After consulting board game experts, we improved this SO MUCH with personas! 🇻🇪 Meet the Garcia family from Venezuela, who use bitcoin to escape hyperinflation. 🇨🇳 Or Li from China, who faces mass surveillance and uses bitcoin as an alternative for CBDC's. 🇸🇻 Or one of the other eight personas!

Concept approved, improvements pending After some tests with the new version of the board, it was time to make it more playable, colorful and testable. Let's call it the "design for maximum utility" 🙂

𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐩𝐮𝐳𝐳𝐥𝐞 𝐢𝐬 𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐩𝐥𝐞𝐭𝐞𝐝. On the left you see v1, on the right v2. The same amount of cards, same amount of blocks, but Blockhunters is now officially a 𝐛𝐨𝐚𝐫𝐝 game. Without decreasing the size of the cards, we managed to optimize the game play a lot!

Translating ideas and improvements into a playable prototype! With the optimized board and new ideas about private keys, we had some creative sessions and starting working on the very first version of something that eventually became Blockhunters v2!

𝐒𝐭𝐞𝐩 𝟏: 𝐦𝐚𝐤𝐞 𝐚 𝐬𝐦𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐫 𝐛𝐨𝐚𝐫𝐝. Back in March, we started to iterate on v1 of Blockhunters. v2 of the board is so much smaller! Expect v3 to be even better and more compact. We're working on this AS WE SPEAK! ⚡️

We're going back in time! In the next weeks we'll take you on a journey from Blockhunters v1 to the current prototype (v2). Step one: redesign the components of the board. The size of v1 (with lots of individual pieces of cardboard) was unnecessarily big. In v2 we made Blockhunters simpler: one single board, smaller dimensions and more efficient use of the space and materials. But also: rethink every single component and optimize it!
