If It Isn’t Milk—It Isn’t Milk One study revealed that 92 unknown compounds were present in so-called synbio—short for “synthetic biology”—milk, which is produced using microbes in a process very similar to beer fermentation. Not one of those 92 compounds has any safety data associated with it. The compounds don’t even have proper names. So again, anybody who tells you “milk” produced by microbes is “nutritionally identical” to cow’s milk either doesn’t know the science or is lying to you.

“Beth Ann Rosica: Pennsylvania gets an A in educational funding and a D in student outcomes” Pennsylvania spends more money than most other states on education and ranks in the bottom third in academic achievement — only twelve states in the nation scored worse than the Commonwealth. Clearly, starting salaries are not impacting high school proficiency in a meaningful way. Yet, despite spending $22,000 per student in 2023, Governor Josh Shapiro asked for an additional $526 million in this year’s budget address.

What’s True and False in One Health What are we to make of the CDC’s new commitment to One Health? The document was issued on Jan. 10, and one might suppose that it would be jettisoned by the incoming administration. Not so. The PDF report is clearly dated Feb. 13, many weeks after Trump took power and even after the United States pulled out of the WHO. And yet the document assuredly commits the United States to working with the WHO:

It All Comes Down to Accounting The most shocking revelation from the very limited look at the Treasury books that judges have permitted DOGE concerns proper tagging of expenditures. They have documented that $4.7 trillion in government spending is not tagged with what’s called a Treasury Access Symbol (TAS) that ties the spending to a congressional authorization.

Interview: The pastor who preaches outside an IVF clinic https://republicsentinel.com/articles/interview-the-pastor-who-preaches-outside-an-ivf-clinic Speed described in an interview with The Sentinel how he has been leading a team of nearly two dozen Christians who share the gospel and interact with parents entering local IVF clinics. The newfound favorability toward IVF from the Republicans comes despite the fact that the procedure usually involves discarding, freezing, or selectively aborting fertilized embryos deemed unwanted or unviable by parents and doctors, an affront to the image of God in man.

Restore the Bicameral Congress This is a major legal problem that admits no real answer apart from a genuine and clean repeal of the 17th Amendment. We would just have to face it: this was a huge mistake that attacked the Constitution at its core. It was passed in a willy-nilly fashion by a generation that had no idea what it was doing. That change fundamentally reoriented the country and its government.

Douglas Murray: Gaza must reject terror of Hamas for war to end The citizens of Gaza mainly supported Hamas when Hamas started a war to annihilate Israel. And while Hamas has mostly lost — it has not yet lost completely. Yet it must lose — completely. And if that means that they are no longer allowed to live in their enclave of terror, then so be it. There is no law of war that says you are allowed to keep waging wars, keep losing them, and then be allowed to do it all over again.

What President Trump Can Do to Fulfill His Campaign Promise on the JFK Files During the 2024 presidential campaign, President-elect Donald Trump stated on several occasions that he would release the rest of the withheld records related to the assassination of President John F. Kennedy. Congress can help prevent a repeat of 2017-2018, when secrecy prevailed over the public interest
