What Can Fed Rate Cuts Achieve? - Opinion In light of this history and what we know, we need years and years of higher rates. That would be the wise policy. The worst possible policy would be one that recreates the exact history of the 1970s, following up a first wave of inflation with another round of the same. That is exactly what is happening.

Venezuela Arrests US, EU Citizens on Alleged Plot to Kill Maduro - Epoch Times New York Cabella identified one of the U.S. citizens as Wilbert Joseph Castañeda Gomez, whom Cabella described as a Navy SEAL who had served in Iraq, Afghanistan, and Colombia. Following the arrests, the U.S. State Department announced that it was aware of the arrest of a member of the military as well as “unconfirmed reports of two additional U.S. citizens detained in Venezuela.”

Florida: Just vote ‘no’ on Amendment 3 Amendment 3, a referendum to enshrine recreational marijuana in the Florida constitution, is on the ballot this November. The ballot language does not mention the significant cost to the voter.Legalizing recreational marijuana will dramatically increase the cost of electricity, automobile insurance, and health insurance. A 2022 study published by the Society for the Study of Addiction concluded that in the United States, there appears to be a 20% average increase in cannabis use frequency attributable to recreational legalization.

If the agencies are willing to spend the better part of two years propagating data that turn out to be false, is there any reason to embrace the new numbers as if the bean counters are certain to have it correct this time?
