I need to remember to use #hashtags in my #fishing posts.

Inshore fishing in the Gulf of America
I signed closing papers today on my house, the buyer signs on Friday. I have also relocated to the Texas gulf coast. I should be back to posting fishing content here as soon as I start catching.
I finished The Bitcoin Standard today. When Saif brought up Namecoin being the first alt, it reminded me that when I first mined Bitcoin (using GPUs), the pool I used was merge mining BTC and Namecoin.
If you have never had crawfish etouffee, you are missing out.
Tomorrow evening I start my journey back home. My #fishing posts will be going on hiatus again while I wrap up work needed on my house in order to get it listed for sale.
I made a minow trap a few days ago to take a closer look at what the bass, crappie, and bluegill are eating in this pond I have been #fishing
I was able to trap some baby crappie, some tiny prawns, and whatever the minnows are. It looks like I forgot to take a photo of the prawns.

I fished the Gulf of America today. I didn't catch anything, but the weather was really great.

Today I caught two crappie and a large mouth, all three on a watermelon crappie magnet with a 1/32 oz pink jig head. #fishing #louisiana

There are many fishing knots, but there are only 3 I use regularly. When tying leader to braid, I use a uni-to-uni knot, I have never had this knot fail on me, and is really easy to tie. For attaching terminal tackle to line (swivels, hooks, small lures), I use a palomar knot. Palomar knots are easier to tie than an improved clinch knot, and is stronger, but it is hard to use with large lures. For large lures, I use the improved clinch knot, this is usually with heavier leader so knot strength is less of an issue.
My current rod and reel setup for freshwater and light saltwater #fishing in #louisiana is an Okuma Ceymar C30 reel with 15 lbs braid, on a 6'6" Lews medium fast Speed Stick. I am mainly targeting large mouth bass.
It has been great fishing again after spending the past 6 months or so working on getting my house ready to be sold, and dealing with some health issues. I still have work to finish on the house before listing, then I am relocating, and then finally I can fish regularly again.
The past few days have been slow for fishing, but I caught a pounder large mouth this morning.

I caught my first Bowfin, measuring in at 22" and my largest catch of 2025 thus far. It was caught in a fresh water pond but released into the bayou.

Fishing Southern Louisiana, the pan fish are starting to get very active.

I have a fear (phobia?) of things exploding in my face, when using a microwave, filling my cars tires with air, and now I realize air compressors.
One cup of coffee is just not going to cut it today.
I long for the day to be fishing again. Other life priorities have been getting in the way, but big changes coming soon.
I never would have thought that my first catch from the bayou would be a blue crab. Catch and release, but unfortunately he lost a claw, and I lost my lure two casts later.
