The reaction of chess grandmaster Garry Kasparov upon discovering that his name was added to the list of "terrorists and extremists" by Vladimir Putin's regime.

Oleksandr Matsyievskyi was captured while defending his country from a terrible and brutal invader.
He was forced to dig his own grave and, as a final act of brutality, was ordered to say "glory to Russia" in front of the cameras, hoping to use him as Kremlin propaganda. But he, impassive and calm, took a final drag on his cigarette, looked into the eyes of his killer, and said: Slava Ukraini (Glory to Ukraine).
He died defending his home, his family, and his country in yet another of the countless acts of war crimes committed by Russia in its war of expansion and conquest.
This video, released exactly 2 years ago, is a symbol of the Ukrainian spirit of struggle and Russian cowardice.
May the memory of Oleksandr Matsyievskyi inspire not only Ukraine to continue defending itself from brutal and cowardly aggression, but also all those who are suffering at the hands of an invader.
After a Chinese coast guard ship collided with a Filipino vessel, there were calls for the President of the Philippines, Ferdinand Marcos Jr., to invoke the Defense Treaty with the USA, a military alliance that obligates the USA to defend the Philippines in the event of foreign aggression. However, today the Filipino president stated that "for now," he will not invoke the treaty. Recently, President Biden said that if the Philippines request military support, the U.S. Navy is ready to provide it.
The Philippines recently granted the USA five new military bases, increasing the total number of U.S. bases in the country to nine.

The initial footage of the confirmed destruction of a US-supplied M142 HIMARS launcher in use by the Armed Forces of Ukraine by the Russian military.
The launcher was positioned at the edge of a field and was hit by what seemed to be a single Islander missile, leading to a munitions cook-off of the HIMARS.
In the later part of the video, the M142 HIMARS can be clearly seen burning.
It is presumed that the launcher had been parked there for an extended period, allowing the Russians to locate and target it with the missile.

In a statement made today, French President Emmanuel Macron told European leaders not to be cowardly regarding defensive support for Ukraine.
It's interesting to note how Macron's stance has changed over the last two years. From a frightened European leader trying at all costs to appease Vladimir Putin, to a committed European leader dedicated to creating a coalition of countries to provide direct defensive support on Ukrainian territory.
French President Macron stated, "We are certainly approaching a moment in our Europe where it will be appropriate not to be cowards." He added, "We will have to live up to history and the courage it implies," during a visit in Prague.
