Sorry, there is no Rare Encounter tonight. I will be a few towns away from home until late evening.
My SSD holding the blockchain was somehow corrupted, and the microSD I was blaming may have been good all along. Oh well. Bootstrapping a new Raspi Blitz, since I needed a fresh start anyway.
You can make a lot of stupid config choises when you don't know wtf you are doing, as I was back a few years ago,
I'll be restoring channels from backup (ha!) and probably do a transaction DB dump from the old card for post-mortum... Replacement hardware will be ordered,
The life and death of my first node. #raspiblitz
My 3.5" LCD is blank. Connecting the 1TB drive causes a continual reboot cycle... the microSD card is new and the image is verified... I'm starting to suspect a hardware failure beyond the microSD. #raspiblitz
After several micro SD card failures, I'm trying SanDisk Extreme Pro. Let's see if it burns out as fast as the others. #raspiblitz
Life is so full of things to do. I had an extra hour of day today and still ran out of time.

Microdosing on tums today. Oh my. The chalk.
Great night grilling weather. Grilling under the stars tonight.
Every time I @ Spencer my app crashes. Maybe a personal problem?
Did you know that #bitcoin promotes low time-preference thinking and behaviour. Improve your life with this one simple trick!
Are all permissionless monies also not backed by violence?
Im in Tucson, Arizona and the restaurant ran out of jalapeño.
Hot take: Supply chain blah blah.
Cold take: People just like em so much.
What time zone is this? What country am I in?

Would you trade "non-profit" for "not compromised by our funding"? I would, but I'm not sure most non-profits would qualify.
Been reading more about the https trust situation, and it seems inevitable that ugly problems fundamental to that model will emerge. Its quiet now, but more people are noticing you cant "properly" profit on the public web2 internet without Verisign, Microsoft, or other "trusted" centralized authorities. You can't sign an executable you wish to sell or make a trusted internet accessible service.
If you don't want to use them, the most promoted provider of "free" certificates is Lets Encrypt. Their parent org is another insiders club funded by big tech and governments. Their rearch seems to be how to put more "privacy preserving" trackers into firefox.
Some of the folks who work there seem ok, but the problem is the structure. How are they going to avoid being captured?
