Hello 👋 Yesterday, I ran my target race at Frig Valley. I started fast, took 3rd place until 8th kilometer. Then, at a course split, I took the wrong path ended up running about 800 meters before realizing something was off. I turned back, but by then I had lost my position in the general classification. I felt dissapointed, but I told myself: “Okay Aylin you are not 3rd anymore and you don’t know how manny people runners have passed you. Just focused on what you can do from here.” For ahead, I sported a woman runner. She was strong, never walking on the hills. I thought “She might be in my agr group-this could be for 3rd place!” I pushed hard to catch her, even on the rocky valley terrain. After three tough kilometers, I finally passed her. I finished fast and strong, taking 7th place overall and 2nd place in my age group. I am happy with the result. You can’t become a better athlete without experiencing mistakes like this. Yesterday was our Victory Day. Today, in the race I ran after returning from Serbia — held in Edirne, which lies in the Balkan part of our country — all runners were handed Turkish flags as we approached the finish line. I was filled with pride. #runstr

Today I ran 11,5km warm up+fartlek+cool down session. Actually I am feeling a little humble after 35K. Because I gave what I had in that race. Now I feel like I have never running before hahahaa but it is normal

I am incredibly tired of the current situation in country. I might even be experiencing a mild depression because of it. But we have such a beautiful geography 🥹 I just want to hold on tightly to my country and say that these hard days will pass 😪

Türkiye 🇹🇷 has some truly amazing places- and this is one of them: Frig Valley. I think this valley is one of the most underrated places in our country. I ran 12 k trail race here last year and I finished 3rd overall 🥉 Now I want to be the champion this time. It won’t be easy. #running #runst

I am officially a 35K finisher

Last weekend, I ran a local 35K trail race- and it was amazing!!! I had been training for 8 weeks for this race. And course is tough; steep climbs, ancient ruins, sheer cliffs, 42 degrees heat 🥵 At that point my saliva glands literally stop working (sadly) I thought I might faint at the finish line… but nooo! I crossed the finish line strong, proud and smiling :) I even beat most of my male training partners. And I finished 2nd overall!!!! What an unforgettable day! #runstr #run
