more #ElZonte #ElSalvador #BitcoinBeach photos: There seems to be a lot of development happening here. Several new high rise condos seem to be in the works. image Floppiest ears on a cow image

El Zonte. The whole town seems almost like a bitcoin meetup! First stop lunch: image some sunset photos: the Bitcoin Hardware store. The friendly Canadians here are very willing to help you find your perfect self-custody solution here. And I love chickens image

We met so many wonderful bitcoiners from Berlin and all over the world. One evening, we all piled into a few cars and drove south of town to a place called Paradise Pineda. Our $2 per person entry fee was definitely worth the views and the photo opportunities, in spite of the fact it was cash only. I really try not to post peoples' faces on Nostr as I cannot "take it back" if someone isn't cool with it. So it limits the photos that I can include. image Fun at sunset! image Street breakfast for $1.70. Overall I really enjoyed our few days in Berlin and would love to go back. The circular economy is taking root here. I have never been anywhere like it. I am hoping I didn't make a mistake by not planning to stay here longer. image

El Salvador update. We went to Berlin first. If you do not have a car that is 4-wheel-drive or at least a lot of clearance, you do not want to take the roads that google suggests. Ask me how I know. Nothing disastrous happened, just a lot of wasted time. I have to say I LOVED Berlin. We went into town looking for our hotel, (which google also had in the wrong location.) My husband decided to pull over on a random side street and we coincidentally parked 1/2 a block away from this: image so that was a nice start. What they are doing at the Bitcoin Community Center is amazing. So many businesses here accept sound money. The local business people seem so happy when asked "Accepta Bitcoin?" The Bitcoin group here is really educating the local merchants on the WHY and HOW of Bitcoin. They have English classes for kids and adults and tons more. I was walking around the center in awe of the great energy and didn't end up taking any photos inside the center! Please forgive me. They are doing good work here and I am so excited to see what is going to unfold in Berlin over the next few years. You may even want to consider donating here: image This is a really cool tree at the top of hike that isn't exactly where we planned to go. But it was a good workout for the calves and glutes and not too hot and sunny. image Even the butterflies know about lightning here #bitcoinberlin

GM Heading to El Salvador later today! I am excited to see Bitcoin Country for the first time.
So my boomer parents signed up with River. I was in town and trying to help them move some of their funds to cold storage. They dutifully scanned in their drivers licenses and took selfies. They got emails this morning saying "it didn't work. Try again Jan 8". So they called the telephone number and got help right away. An initial glitch due to automated systems but handled very efficiently by customer service. This does a lot to engender confidence. Kudos to the River team! I will continue to sing your praises.😊 🧡
Wow. I turned on the global "firehose" setting on primal. There's a lot of weird stuff on here. I love it that it is not stoppable and people can post whatever they want. Also I'm really glad I just see my curated feed most of the time.
Does anyone know if you can get a coldcard to make an address file with addresses 250-500 from a particular wallet? #asknostr #coldcard
I have been looking online for some informational posters about ultra-processed foods and their health risks. Not really anything out there. I found one that is acceptable but I want something a little stronger. Need something to brighten up my exam rooms and teach at the same time. If you know where I could find something like this, let me know. #asknostr
Just a random book recommendation. Desert Solitude by Edward Abbey. I haven't read it for about 15 years. You expect him to be a lefty hippie but really based. “Anarchism is founded on the observation that since few men are wise enough to rule themselves, even fewer are wise enough to rule others.” ― Edward Abbey
