Accountability photo day. In my good health journey (which has been going on for a long time), I recently had the experience where some lingering lower back pain was eradicated after I went on an overnight backpacking trip to Virgin Falls. Logically, it makes no sense why carring 30 or 40 pounds up and down rocky canyons did this. Was it that my posture got better? Was there lingering toxins in my muscles? Did pushing myself to the brink but not over the line trigger a chemical change in my body? Is the water at Virgin Falls magic? Idk. All I know is that since that time, I've walked with a weighted vest each morning and have largely remained lower back pain free. Sometimes I wimp out for weather though, but not today. Hello rain!

GM #COFFEECHAIN Lately I have taking time in the morning for prayer and reflection before doing anything. Some very clear insights have been the result. But there is a fly in the ointment. Apparently I gotta write that shit down or it ends up hazy at times or completely glossed over. Today, I have a show with a really cool lady who has done extensive work exploring intentional communities. There is more coffee to roast and ship. Operation set up better household systems, followed by operation taxes. @Jack Spirko 's ai course where I changed my mind about what to focus on. And laslty, a rare, outside of business hours interview this evening. Somewhere in ther I get to pickly beets and compost tea the gardens :) Plus the sheep ears need lanolin. Gm #coffeechain. Morning reading is done. Today, in the book Good Energy by Casey Means, we explored the impact of heat and cold exposure on your body's metabolism. I appreciate that she included gree ideas for getting heat and cold exposure. As a homesteader, I get more heat than cold at this time of year, but perhaps more plunges in the 55 degree creek is in order... Today is a heavy coffee roast ans ship day, a catch up on chores day, and a visitor day. Tomorrow, we have a gathering as we build the final section of tomato wall. Excited to see new and familiar faces, share a meal, and learn from the experience. We've been called to stop hiding woods and open up the homestead more. Should be a fun time! As an aside, I've heard a rumor that having no indoor animals makes it easier to keep the house clean. Gm #coffeechain Doing chores early today because we are headed to Strong Roots Resources today and Tactical wanted to hit church on the way. Contemplating the tomato wall system today. We are building the last one to shield my house from summer sun next Sunday afternoon. We decided to do an open house/potluck for anyone who wants to see how this is done. The weird thing? This is a hydroponic system. I tossed compost tea in there 4 weeks ago along with Texas Tomato Food. Since that time these plants have gone from babies to almost as tall as my house AND I have added water but no more fertilizer. The nutrient count keeps going up. The plants look healthy. It has turned into a great experiment. What did I trigger and how did I trigger it?? Anyway the new wall will have a worm bin integrated and I'll see if we can go 100% compost tea and worm casting tea. Wanna come? JUNE 8, 1pm ct-4pm ct Rsvp here
