I've never been "cyber-bullied" until I joined Nostr. I made a comment about SeedOils in an effort to help someone, that person took the comments in a weird way - freaked out & deleted their npub for a while. I got threatened by multiple people (or at least multiple nsecs). I didn't care much, as I know some people are unhinged & just need a target. Moral of the story is people shouldn't use Nostr bc were "generally nicer" here. They should use it because they find some community on here that makes them feel they're deriving value in whatever way they deem useful.

When you see how people choose to spend their attention in a way that is suicidal to a productive human experience - you must mute them. This is why I leave certain accounts unmuted - I then see who interacts with a non-productive topic & mute away. Some accounts have never interacted with me - yet they're muted. This is a way to tailor your Nostr experience before you waste your time connecting / debating someone who you basically already don't respect based on the content they're attracted to. A mosquito light strategy, if you will.
