Ampezzo, my favorite place in Italy 🏔️ Between these majestic mountains lives a proud, strong and heartwarming culture of local mountain people that are silently being pushed out of their homeland, the extravagant luxury tourism that brings VIPs twice a year for the summer and winter seasons is constantly driving the region’s cost of life to unrealistic prices, to a point where none of the locals can afford to keep up, families break apart fighting for millionaire inheritances of old houses built by the hands of their own grandparents, eventually abandoning their roots for a bag of money and broken ties, while the state replaces any infrastructure that serves the community with constructions to attract even more tourism. I love you Cortina d’Ampezzo, and the slow death of your essence deeply breaks my heart ❤️‍🩹 image

So, Rijeka and Fiume are the same city, both words mean river, and this river used to divide the city in two, one side Slavic and another Italian, nice to know image

Ryanair’s business strategy made low cost flights possible by being assholes. What they sell is €15 tickets as an opportunity to fuck you with an insane fee the moment you trespass any of their nonsense policies, like bringing a 1cm larger trolley that totally fits their aircraft, 75 euros per trolley in this picture 🤦‍♂️ image

Who would have thought a volcano could provide everything people need? Etna, the highest and most active volcano in Europe, might seem like a force of destruction, but it’s actually the reason life thrives in the region. Its volcanic soil makes the land incredibly fertile, its melting snow provides water during the dry summer months, and its presence feels almost protective, like a mother watching over her children. Mamma Etna is a giver of life. 🌋 image
