GM, heading to the office today, nice to get out one or two days of week for a change of scenery.
Time for some #coffeechain and then the school run.
What’s everyone’s plans for today?
It’s baffling that people can work for years and still be utterly incompetent
The only book you need on nutrition, fitness and just general health. Sisson is the 🐐

I’m jealous of a lot of things in America. But probably the biggest is the space their homes can have. Imagine having a garage that you just used as a workout room?!?!?!
Throwback to the start of the month when I went on an open fire cookery course for my 30th. Over 4 hours of driving in one day but had an absolute blast.
Couple who run the course run their own smokery on a 5 acre homestead in West Wales.
In total we made:
- Butter basted whole chicken
- Whisky barrel smoked ribs
- Reverse seared steak picanha
- Bacon onion rings
- Smash burgers
- Planked salmon
- Fire roasted vegetables
- Loaded bacon bits meatballs
- Flatbreads
All finished off with bone marrow melted over it

There’s more to the universe than just “stuff”
What’s the deal with all these b*tr**t bots? If I go on their profiles it says that loads of people I follow are following them??
How much RAM and CPU could a backup run off at a minimum? Only accepts requests/ from 1 npub

Self-hosting is a skill that everyone should start to have.
We live in a technology world and AI runs the risk of you dulling your skills to interact with that technology.
Self-hosting forces you to learn how things work. I can self host my own website, my own services, my own bitcoin, my own nostr relay and not be censored.
Take the leap, it's not as scary as you think.
GM, another day. Time feels relentless at the moment. There’s never enough hours in the day to do the things I need to do to escape the system.
Bonjour les amis
Spending time listening to videos from socialist/anarchist voices. So much of it is rooted in Christian practice but has been scrubbed to be secular.
Mutual aid is just an expected norm of the church in Acts
Oh boy here we go

I get what Jack is getting at but as many have pointed out. 2 & 4 are a luxury of the childless. I average 4-5 hours a night broken up in 3-4 stints.
One day we’ll get to a point where 2 & 4 are true but for most of my “productive” years I’ll be sacrificing those things for my children.
If you’re childless absolutely allow yourself these things, they’re a gift from God.
But for those of us with children or circumstances that make 2 & 4 impossible remember we have been blessed in different ways

Running a home server is stressful, but worth it

Just realised the irony of a lightning strike knocking out my lightning node

Anybody used venice.ai? They claim to offer private AI and you can pay in Bitcoin but wondering how true/provable the private bit is?

For my #libertarian experts:
Is there much literature on community and intentional communities?
There seems to be so much focus on the sovereign self that it misses out on the idea that we need community to thrive
