For my book, I quote quite a bit from most of these books in this list. They basically provide the core for understanding the actual potential for how Bitcoin could be particularly transformative for Muslims. But what's missing is the much needed economic theory for helping the Muslim reader understand Bitcoin from a sound money perspective. So we had to rely quite a bit on Austrian Economics to bridge that gap. But the list is still extremely informative (it was for me!), even from an Economics standpoint, and I hope my book will inspire others to go down this rabbit hole. image

Interesting thread about Saudi's failed attempt at AI: "Saudi needs to give up on AI. HUMAIN Chat, their new Arabic AI, just launched and is a massive letdown: only available in Saudi, highly censored, unintelligent, politically correct answers. It appears PIF’s $8B write-down on failed megaprojects is just the beginning.🧵(1/6) PIF’s thrown billions at AI: $40B tech fund, $600B US-Saudi deal, $10B AMD chips. Yet HUMAIN Chat pales in comparison to other free models like ChatGPT and Grok. Basic, generic responses at best, and propaganda and confusion at worst. These are just some issues I faced: (2/6) It gave extremely generic, irrelevant 'answers' regarding Gaza. It refused to answer a controversial hijab-related question, and added unnecessary positive opinions on Islam when asked about inheritance law. (3/6) Moreover, it assumed I was Muslim and didn’t answer me in the first person the way ChatGPT and Grok do. Basic intelligence is off as well. (4/6) I asked it to edit the sentence, “the guys store wants to close,” and it couldn’t pick up on the context that the store belongs to the guy. ChatGPT did. Saudi’s PIF took an $8B hit in 2024, slashing pipedreams like NEOM. (5/6) Now we can safely add HUMAIN to the list: despite a team of 120+ experts and 35 PhDs, its chatbot can't even compete with free-tier Grok or ChatGPT. Looks like these Saudi-made projects are never leaving the Kingdom. (6/6)

Man, this is really great. It's an audio adaptation of the Spiritual Opsec Guide and I thoroughly enjoyed it, even if it’s not what people were expecting. The guide itself lays out so much foundational material for Muslims who want to think seriously about the future in how to navigate it, how to hold fast to our tradition, and somehow at the same time, how to look forward with a kind of Islamic futurology/accelerationism And as for the audio, yeah some might say it’s cringe or awkward or whatever. But tbh that’s what makes it good. It sounds cool, it doesn’t try to be overly serious and it doesn’t impose itself. It’s probably not gonna reach the youth or go viral, but that’s not the point. I think it does a good job of capturing the weird, quirky, anonymous, edgy spirit of SAIF perfectly. But different is the point. Anonymity is the point. That strangeness is the point! Anyway, just give it a listen. I don’t even know what point I’m trying to make here except that I loved it. View quoted note →

Alright, it’s finally here! Anti-Riba Money has officially arrived! For years I wished someone would write a proper book on Bitcoin from a Muslim perspective. I just didn’t expect that person to end up being me 😅 My goal with this book is simple: to offer Muslims a clear, methodical, and unapologetically honest perspective on Bitcoin, one that connects our faith, history, and our economic reality today. InshaAllah, it can serve as a resource for anyone, even students and scholars, who want to understand why Bitcoin (not crypto) matters for Muslims and why it’s more than just “another investment” The paperback is out now on Amazon: a.co/d/gANBS9O The eBook version will be available in just a few days, inshaAllah. image

Wow. It looks like this MM article on SAIF made quite a buzz on Muslim twitter. Interesting see how people are grappling with it. I think the biggest issue normies have is that everyone involved with SAIF is mostly nameless and faceless, but tbh that just shows that they made the right call by staying anon. It makes me appreciate Muslims that stay anon online. View quoted note →
