WHY I POST ON NOSTR — (not that you asked) —I’m interested in underlying tech of bitcoin (dirty word: blockchain) & how it can work for artists & finances & ip. i’m fairly agnostic as to whether bitcoin succeeds or fails. even tho community is bitcoin-heavy (desperately obsessed!), i learn. —I’m interested in decentralized tech even if the word “decentralized” is overused in tech comms & misleading. majority of “de-fi” is absolutely not decentralized. i think centralized power always eventually fails & is thus a fundamental misunderstanding of how power operates. so for me spreading or locating info in dispersed, separated nodes is ultimately more resilient, clever, & longer lasting. —I am not interested in influencing or followers. I think of these as “post-it notes to the universe.” My posts may be dismissed or ignored by readers today (i don’t care) but may provide value for readers in the future. I like the idea that this is a protocol so there are apps that could use my posts & others’ posts in the future in ways I can not imagine now.

this word “cast” is interesting as it means to put someone in a part (theatre) or be the in ensemble, the cast, but also to throw out as if to sea…also cast as in an arm or body cast which hardens or encases around a broken part for healing. cast light or shadow, cast as if project from phone to screen, cast to create a solid object from a liquid…one can cast DOUBT, cast votes, cast back your mind to remember, cast a spell as if in magic, and a snake casts its skin, shedding the old layer for new.
