We're happy to announce Mutiny Wallet is now available on iOS and Android! In addition to the existing PWA, you can now get the same great Mutiny experience in native app form directly from the Apple App Store and Google Play Store. We built Mutiny to be unstoppable. To do that, we knew we had to build it first for the web, without the censorship of permissioned app stores. Today, anyone can visit app.mutinywallet.com and get a self-custodial lightning wallet that can't be shut down by Apple or Google. We have had the Android APK available to download for awhile, but starting today you may get it directly from the Google Play Store or using Obtainium on our Github. Here is the Play link: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.mutinywallet.mutinywallet The testflight has been out for awhile too, exclusive to our Mutiny+ users. Now available to all is our iOS Apple Store release. https://apps.apple.com/us/app/mutiny-wallet/id6471030760 We have a lot of new features planned for Mutiny Wallet in the coming months (for all platforms), so stay tuned as we work to make Mutiny more social, more powerful, and even easier to use. if you want to help shape Mutiny's future, please join our new Discord server or Matrix community. We want to build the best spending wallet in bitcoin and your feedback can help us get there. More info in the blog below:

Mutiny version 0.5.8 going out now. This includes additional fedimint features and fixes, including a "Swap to LN" feature that moves your federation esats to a self-custodial LN channel. There have been some breaking changes to fedimint integrations over the last few releases. It's recommended that you remove the previous federation if you're having issues sending and add a DIFFERENT federation for testing. Do not add the same one back. Thank you all for testing, there should be less of these breaking changes now that we're improving these bugs.

We've released Mutiny version v0.5.7 which includes two notable changes. Payjoin v1 support has been added. Huge credit to @Dan Gould over the last few months, for the improvements to the PDK library and getting it included into Mutiny! Thanks to Ben Allen too for testing. image We're really excited about the privacy gains here and for future improvements such as Payjoin v2. This should allow asynchronous payjoins, making it possible for a mobile user to payjoin with another mobile user. We've also made some underlying changes to how NWC works in Mutiny. We've switched over all new connections to use our new strfry based relay instead of using the Blastr. This should greatly improve performance and speed, in addition to being able to better support consumer apps. You may continue using your existing NWC connections, but for better reliability, you can delete existing wallet connections to recreate them on the new relay. In the coming months, we should have a load of new nostr related features as well. Stay tuned!

Sending on Mutiny just got a lot more social: you can now search your contacts (and global nostr users) when sending! There's a lot that changed in this release so let us know what you think. Expect to see more like this in the future!

Ending the year off strong! Over the last few months, we've been preparing our wallet for Fedimint integrations. Today marks the first release with Fedimint support ready for alpha testing! image Fedimint is software for managing federated custodian funds. It's similar to the trust model of Liquid but better privacy and without a blockchain involved. It also has first-class support for Lightning. The way we've gone about the integration is to seamlessly smooth over the edges that exist in self-custodial Lightning. Our hybrid approach will use a configured Federation when needed. Otherwise, it uses self-custodial Lightning if it exists for the user. This helps things like channel reserves, channel minimums, high chain fees to get started, etc. You may add a Federation alongside your existing wallet or start with one without needing to open channels or pay on-chain costs. We recommend keeping the value low since this is a very early release, and there are some known features that we still need to develop. image It should feel and act like the same Mutiny Wallet with some caveats around backups for now. A massive shoutout to the Fedimint team for their recent v0.2 release. It's still early for them and us, so all testing and feedback is welcomed! This does rely on having a federation invite code. We suspect that, over the next few weeks and months, more mainnet federations will pop up. There is not a default one built into the wallet. We should also have Lightning Address support in a few weeks that works through federations. Kody has already started that work, and it seems promising: Also, there's beginning work on supporting the Lightning Service Provider Specification, which will eventually allow more plug-and-play support for any LSP to power Mutiny. This will be huge for more advanced node runners as the spec matures. Huge shoutout to John Cantrell for that work. A lot of core infrastructure has been built into this release. Let us know if there are any problems; it should be identical to previous versions if you do not configure a Fedimint or different LSP. Expect much more to come soon. Happy new year!
