I was told about #Bitcoin in 2015/16 because all my colleagues at the time were trading it on localbitcoins.com (RIP). I remember downloading a price checker app and keeping an eye on it. Said I would wait for it to dip back below $250 and would buy some. It didn’t. Eventually in 2017 I started trading myself and thought I’d be smarter than them and avoid getting my bank accounts closed but of course chasing fiat gains always comes at a cost and I got rekt. Not from shitcoin trading (although I did lose a fair amount there too) but by the banks freezing my accounts when I was holding a lot of coin bought on leverage and had no way of selling just as the massive dump and bear market hit. A horrible 18 months followed trying to pay off the debt I’d accrued but I took the time to go on a deep dive down the rabbit hole and came out the other side a true Bitcoiner. Weekly DCA and using/replacing to invest in my music career ever since. Now the future is very bright and it’s the colour orange. I keep meaning to delete this app but decided not to as it serves as an eternal reminder of the foolishness of fiat/shitcoinery.
