deepseek = best model, good, cheap llama = boomer model, good, cheap claude = coders with bloat, good, inexpensive xai = karen tech, expensive, privacy invasive openai = office tech, very expensive, privacy invasive gemini = google tech, good, price unkown, privacy invasive I would stick with deepseek and llama for Open projects, and some claude for coding. Of course, everything will change in a month.

Open Source llama 4 model is now 100x-300x cheaper than the commercial commercial closed offerings, for equal, if not better quality. And deepseek R2 will drop this month. The future is open!

“Their bodies were gathered and buried in this mass grave,” Whittall added. “We’re digging them out with uniforms, with their gloves on. They were here to save lives. Instead, they ended up in a mass grave.” View quoted note →

What Does did-nostr Do? did-nostr is a DID method that brings decentralized identity to Nostr. It lets you attach useful metadata and service endpoints to your Nostr public key, turning it into a portable identity hub. Instead of just being a key that signs events, your Nostr pubkey becomes a rich identifier that can point to relays, profiles, storage, Bitcoin wallets, and much more.

On interoperability—this is what made the web so big. It didn’t just invent HTML; it embraced email, PDFs, FTP, IRC—systems it didn’t control. Anything useful it could connect to was added to its growth path. Today, you can link to a PDF and it just works—even though the web didn’t create PDF viewers. When I spoke with Tim Berners-Lee, inventor of the web, and mentioned Nostr, his first question was, “What’s Nostr?” After I explained, his response was: “Let’s make my web OS interoperable with it.” That’s already been merged. In contrast, when I once suggested to fiatjaf that the wider web might want to use Nostr, he replied: “I hope they never use it.” Interoperability isn’t just about protocols talking to themselves—it’s about acknowledging that other systems exist, and figuring out how to work with them. That’s how the web won. View quoted note →
